Eight Days Until Easter

Rating: Its the goddamn Easter Bunny, it's as child friendly as you can possibly get.

With the vast majority of his eggs painted, Bunnymund has taken a break to cover another important part of Easter preparation. He's stood on a rock, a small group of about twenty googies waiting expectantly, their newly painted shells glimmering in the winter sunlight.

"Okay, troops!" Bunny calls to them. "We've got eight days left, and a lot of work left to do. So let me see how good you're getting at this."

He pulls out a stopwatch, waving it in front of the little coloured eggs.

"I want the time shaved. Remember, we've not just got anklebiters here, we've got adults and no dream sand to keep them knocked out while we work. We've got to be fast, okay? Ready. Set. GO!"

And with that, the eggs scramble (ba dum bump) racing off to various places in the garden, hiding themselves away. All except one, which toddles itself into a snowdrift, its sad little spindly legs waving around in some distress. Bunny sighs, plucking the little egg up.

"I know, Squigs. The snow isn't helping any. We're just going to have to adapt if it's not gone before Easter."

[[OOC: As always only people who believe in the Easter Bunny can see him. The googies are completely visible to everyone, though]]

Blues is watching from a across the garden. He's too cool to get right up and in there. When the eggs start to disperse he may decide to walk around though, but he's not trying to find them. Oh no, he'd never do that.

...He's totally doing that.

Oh of course not. He's far too much of a cool kid for that. Bunny's watching this sign of obvious coolness with faint amusement.

One of the googies even rolls out of its bush a little. Look, it's right there.

[whistles_the_blues]

He'll take a few steps around toward the googie and if he can block off it's return route to the bush with his foot. What now egg?

The googie remains lying still. Not doing a damn thing.

"You fund it," comments Bunny, from his spot on a rock.

[whistles_the_blues]

"I guess I did."

He'll pick it up and move toward Bunny, offering it up.

"Just a suggestion; you may want to teach them not to roll out of their hiding spots, makes the whole thing kind of easy."

"They're supposed ot be found by young'uns" says Bunny, taking the egg back. "They can't be too difficult, either."

[whistles_the_blues]

"You have a point there." He was "born" a teenager, give him a break there.

"I'll have to commend it then; someone may pass over it the first time but the roll out is a clever way to make sure it's noticed on the second time around."

[thatrabbitsdynamite]

"There you are," says Bunny, addressing the egg. "You did well."

[whistles_the_blues]

"Don't let it go to your... Yolk though. The pressure will be on come the big day." He's a dork, he can't help it.

[thatrabbitsdynamite]

"He's right you know," Bunny chuckles. "You've got a lot of work ahead of you."

And with that the egg races off to find a new hiding place. Determined to be the BEST EGG.

[whistles_the_blues]

"And there goes an egg destined to be someones snack." He watches it race off before looking over to Bunny.

"Just about ready for the big day?"

[thatrabbitsdynamite]

"About as ready as I'll ever be," he says. "I still have a few dozen eggs to finish up, but I'll be ready."

[whistles_the_blues]

"Well, you've put the work in. I'm sure everything will go fine."

[thatrabbitsdynamite]

"And then I can relax a little," says Bunnymund. "Just focus on making you lot stay safe."

[whistles_the_blues]

Well that'll be nice. You can skip me on that though, I've taken care of myself long enough.

You're a kid, you fall under my watch, like it or not. Can't hurt to have some back up, anyway.

I suppose. Just remember you said I didn't have to like it.

I'll bear that in mind.

"As long as we're clear on that. I'm sure there are enough kids around here to keep you busy." It's an idea that could grow on him, whether he'll ever admit or not is another thing.
