Ballad of the Wind
Who: Firethroat and you?
What: Flying
When: Today
Where: Outside the castle
Rating: G?
Many days have passed, and still her situation has not changed. Firethroat is still trapped in a strange land with strange people. Her attempts to pass through worlds back to Luster have been for naught. While she had no task of great urgency back in Luster, she did wish she could return to her territory. Although time supposedly halted while they were in this land, she felt uncomfortable leaving it behind. What if that rumor was not true and delivers invaded in her absence? She detested the thought.
For the most part, she has avoided other residents, staying either in the forest or on the castle roof. There were too many humans for her tastes. Humans, as far as Firethroat was concerned, were bad news. Especially in greater numbers. Even if she had met a few pleasant ones before, larger numbers meant a greater risk of them banding together to attack her. Therefore, she kept to herself. No need to put herself in danger, even if she was quite certain she would survive an attack.
However, there was one tradition she refused to give up, even if it put her in human sights: her daily flight. From early in the morning to mid-afternoon, Firethroat could be seen soaring overhead as she surveyed the land below her. This was in part to keep watch but more so for the joy of feeling the wind against her scales. Today is no different. The great red dragon loops through the air way above the castle. She passes over the town briefly before returning to Paradisa and the surrounding area.
Eventually, she lands on the castle lawn for a break. Once she is on the ground, her immense size becomes extremely noticeable. Her head alone is the size of a car, able to eat a grown man without difficulty. As threatening as she might look though, she merely lays down upon the ground, steam rising as her warm body hits the cold snow and melts it.
