After sending out her invitation, Dairine starts getting ready for the big night. She heads out about a half hour early to set up everything, just in case people are early. This is her first time trying to set up anything for the rest of the castle, but it seemed a shame to set off fireworks without telling others in advance.

The Lawn

If you're really brave and want to be really close to the show, the lawn is open for you. Place down a blanket or sit on the grass. If you get too close though, the young wizard will come over to shoo you away. Lighting people on fire would ruin the day, accident or not.

As it starts to get dark, she brings out some sparklers for those wandering on the lawn. Feel free to grab a few. She’ll light them with a spell for you if you ask her.

Pitch... is definitely getting too close, but he has a feeling she won't necessarily care if he gets hurt. He's curious about what kinds of fireworks she has-- if they're from a wizard school, it's very possible that they're unlike any he's seen before.

He's right; she wouldn't. Dairine notices his approach pretty quickly and glares up from what she was doing.

"Yes?"

"Just looking." Partly because-- after she caught him spying on her nightmares-- he wants to make it very clear that he doesn't see her as a threat to him, but also partly because he's curious.

The scowl stays on her face, but he hasn't messed with anything yet. That doesn't mean she's not going to be a brat about it though.

"Can't you 'just look' somewhere else?"

"No, because these are the only fireworks around." AKA, so is he.

Nita approaches with her hands in her pockets, grinning from ear to ear. "Need a hand, Dairi?"

Dairine looks up from the box that she just put down. "Sure, if you want to chance being nearby as I handle explosives."

Nita shrugs and comes closer. "Pretty sure I've dealt with worse."

"Fair enough," Dairine says, grinning. "Does this rate higher or lower than the shark?"

"Believe it or not, Ed was not the most terrifying thing on that particular adventure."

The Roof

The roof is wide open, with plenty of space for chairs or blankets. It will also gives a perfect view of the fireworks once they start. Hidden away nearby is one of the radios, which Dairine has set to play patriotic songs until the show starts.

To one side of the roof, a folding table has been set up with a checkered table-cloth. It's lit up On it are slices of watermelon and star-shaped sugar cookies. There is plenty of room in case more people want to add food that they brought. Next to the table is a cooler filled with various sodas. Sorry, grown ups. If you want alcohol, you’ll have to bring your own.

The Fireworks

Finally it is time, and the show begins. The show is actually a box of Weasley’s Wildfire Whiz-bangs. Opening it, Dairine starts to light them off one by one. Soon the sky is filled with whirling pink Catherine wheels, rockets with trails of silver stars, and green-and-gold dragons which seem to almost have a life of their own. There are also some firecrackers which making noises far longer than normal ones. Instead of going out, the fireworks keep bouncing off the castle walls, emitting sparks and loud bangs as they go. It’s a good thing this was done outside, isn’t it?

Those on the roof will be happy to find that Dairine put up a shield around it, allowing them to watch this unique display safely. Those on the lawn though... well, it might be a good idea not to get too close.

The fireworks keep going for nearly two hours before they eventually start to fizzle out or float away. Good luck sleeping tonight, folks.
