Take a Seat: Make a Friend
Who: Everyone!
What: BALLS
When: Morning of August 3rd to the Morning of August 4th
Where: The castle lobby
Rating: mostly PG-13 for silliness
It happens very suddenly. You might even be downstairs right at that moment, eating breakfast or coming down the stairs, but some time in the early morning, the empty lobby is very suddenly filled will thousands upon thousands of colorful plastic balls. The lobby furniture is still there - the backs of couches and the tops of lamps sticking out of the sea of color like small islands.
Find yourself inside the borders of the lobby, however, and you'll notice there are words on all those balls and a sign that reads:
Make A Friend!
Choose a question.
Each person in room must then answer.
Answer two questions or more to exit.
OOC rules: Just like a meme, you may roll on the following table with the help of Random.org or pick your own!
Anyone else present in the room at the time can complete either the challenge or the question. You must complete two things in any combination before you are allowed to leave, but you may of course stay. If you leave the ball pit and return later for any reason, you must complete the questions/challenges again.
If you happen to still be around when evening rolls around, well, you're in for another treat. A swim-up style cabana bar shows up in the corner, equipped to dispense snacks and booze to the stranded. And then the dance music pipes in. It's just like someone is saying - loosen up and have some fun!

"Then I suppose I should answer unless I wish to lose this game. My mother was a lady of noble birth and she did as most woman in her station do, stayed in the confines of Monteriggioni to see to it's running and maintenance as well as watch out after her children. My father, also a man of noble birth, managed his land holdings and did what he could to see to the education and well-being of his family."
He intended to end the answer there, leaving the rest unsaid, but apparently the sin of omission was not to be allowed during this game either.
"He was also an assassin."
no subject
"Wow, sounds like they were interesting people," Castle replied, then felt the strangest compulsion to answer in kind. "My mother was- still is- a theatre actress, and was a little... absent for most of my early life. Now she runs an acting school. My father I didn't know about til well into adulthood, and he's... some sort of agent. Could be he's an assassin himself. He's not exactly forthcoming."
Castle then blinked and seized a ball, looking at the question- only to find the text on the ball was slowly shifting.
"'Fill your pants or shirt with balls'? Oh, I get it, this is a big game of Truth or Dare! Only I didn't exactly intend to tell the whole truth..."
no subject
Still Giovanni pouted at the balls littering the room just... not understanding them.
"I have never heard of a game called Truth or Dare. Must you now," Erm... how to say this in the most awkward way possible? "Fill your pants now?"
no subject
"Well, it's exactly what it sounds like- you play it with two or more people and challenge each other to either answer questions truthfully or dare them to do something if they refuse a question. It looks like... the balls are rotating between questions and dares. So I'll just pick something different, even though it'd be funny as hell to say I've got balls in my pants and shirt."
Castle began rooting around, tossing balls aside.
"A belly flop! I can do that. You game?"
no subject
"Since that is what they are here for we might as well."
But for his part he searched around in the unruly ball pit to find a short chair to climb up on before leaping from the seat and sinking down into the balls like a stone might sink into water.
no subject
"OUCH. OK, that was about as ungainly as a hippo." He turned over on his back, then lay still. "... Come of think of it, I wonder how many of these we'll have to do before we're allowed to leave?"
no subject
"Perhaps it just takes a little practice to get the technique right? It is probably more a game for children than adults like us."
The balls or their part sat around unmoving, save for the words that briefly appeared across their surface.
"If it is the castle I imagine they will remain until it is satisfied. I am not even sure playing its game will eventually grant us the ability to leave."
But it was sort of fun anyway so... he reached for another colored ball. Name some one you admire and why."
no subject
"Someone I admire... that's a tough one. If fictional characters count, then Agent 007 is right up there. He's a spy- one of the best ones ever- and reading books about him when I was younger inspired me to start writing."
no subject
He could see Petruccio hopping in and out of the balls now, he would have to be reminded to slow down and take it easy... if only he were here to enjoy it.
"A spy would lead an interesting life. I would not mind reading stories about this man myself. But for me I think... I am sure it is true for most boys but I always admired my father. He was a tough man when he needed to be but fair, with a strong sense of justice."
no subject
Castle grinned.
"Glad you had a good relationship with your father, then. Fictional spies are all well and good, but having someone like that around is even better. Of course, I still do admire Agent 007 and reread his books when I can- they're in the library here. Sometimes, that's all I need to get over writer's block."
no subject
"I do enjoy a good book. After I finish the one I am currently reading I will have to look up one of those 007 books."
He raised a hand to the nearby rail of the stairs, testing to see if they had done enough yet to leave. It was something of a surprise to find the barrier gone and the way to the first step possible.
"It seems that might have been all that was needed in order to leave. Still it, was an enjoyable game. Grazie."
no subject
He nodded.
"It certainly was. I think I'm going to stay here for a while, myself. I'm always up for meeting new people."
no subject
He couldn't say he had ever been to the 'Death Match' before but, why not? It might make for an interesting evening and he did need to get out more often. Patrolling the town was all well and good but one also needs to occasionally speak to people as well.
"Do enjoy the rest of your mingling."
no subject
"And mingling is another of my favorite hobbies, so I definitely will. Hope you don't get stuck again."
