Carolina let out a frustrated sigh, really unable to keep it in despite the fact making such a sound would do nothing to alter the situation. Unaware of the dog's intense gaze on her, the Freelancer moved over to the kitchen to retrieve a beer for herself, her movements stiff. She had no idea where to even start resolving the conflict at hand, especially since York had cut himself off entirely from what she'd seen. If he wanted to be an asshole out in the mountains, then he could go right ahead.
Popping off the top of the beer, the Freelancer first considered beside his new pet, but then reconsidered, instead drawing up one of the arm chairs and plopping herself down in it. Just sitting down reminded her of the deep exhaustion that ran through ever bone in her body.
"York said if there was a way to prove that this isn't a loss, then he'd be willing to try," she replied, following it up with a snort. "Don't know if I believe that or not."
