Her eyes narrowed even further as she took in his words. They were "simple" and "things" no better than animals in their feelings and reactions. As she turned to him, she took notice of the wound in his hand again, and remembering the cause of the injury, pushed the insult she originally planned to throw at him and asked a "simple" question instead.
