Spike doesn't come to the rescue as quickly as Molotov probably would have liked; in fact, he debates that decision as he pulls himself back up and nearly gags on the blood running down his throat. (Also, he just isn't as in love with her as it appeared a moment ago.)

But hey, leave it to a guy with a death wish to make poor decisions. He grabs his discarded shirt, uses it as a rag to wipe his face, then he rolls it into a makeshift rope and throws it around Brock's neck from behind. The idea isn't so much to strangle him as to rein him in, or at least refocus his attention. Ordinarily he would use other means, but he's not in the right shape for kicking him in the back of the head and he doesn't want to pull a gun on his buddy and his completely understandable fury.
