[ Surprised not to find Bunny outside, Arya climbs down the ladder into the burrow. Nymeria is already waiting for her at the bottom, tail wagging. Arya greets her enthusiastically. ]

Hello, you! Have you been good? Where's Rabbit?

[The rabbit in question was sitting, painting eggs still, looking fairly exhausted.

...Which tends to happen when you don't sleep for eighteen days straight. He glances over at her entrance, though, giving her a smile]

G'day little brumby. Nymeria's been doing her job well.

[wolfchild]

[ Arya's lip curls. Never one to mince words, she snaps: ] You look awful.

[He gives her a sideways glance, one ear flicking a little irritably, before he goes back to painting]

It's good to see you, too.

[wolfchild]

Have you slept?

[thatrabbitsdynamite]

...I've had a few minutes shut eye.

[Like five minutes]

[ She points at a corner. ]

Go to sleep!

[thatrabbitsdynamite]

I'm fine, Arya. I'll sleep when Easter's over.

[HE'S THE EASTER BUNNY HE DOES WHAT HE WANTS]

You're going to sleep now.

[ And she's Arya motherfucking Stark and she takes no shit from no one. Not even the Easter Bunny.

And she also has a direwolf. Who is eyeing this with a little too much interest. ]

I'm too busy, I've still got a good hundred and fifty eggs to finish up, and Easter;s getting closer.

[ She twirls the brush. Nap now, Bunny. When he starts moving to find a place to sleep, Arya will warn him with a sweet smile: ] Nymeria will know if you're not really asleep.

[He casts her an annoyed look, flopping somewhat petulantly onto a pile of cushions]

[ Hiding the brush in her clothes, Arya sits near him. ]

Lie back, close your eyes, think of good things.

Well, I've been busy. Upcoming holiday and all.

You can put your head on my lap if you like. Nymeria does it all the time. It's her favorite position to be.

[He mutters a little, more asleep than awake at this point, but does as she suggests.

Just gonna sleep now, don't mind the giant rabbit]

[ If she minded, she'd kick him off. Arya keeps quiet, content to continue carding his fur. When she is certain he won't wake, she scolds him. ]

Stupid rabbit. [ He ought be taking care of himself too.

Nymeria wanders over. Her golden eyes settle on Bunny. Arya has to carefully extricate herself before Nymeria wakes him up while trying to sit on Arya's lap herself.

With the brush still in hand, Arya elects to paint a few eggs. She enlists Nymeria's help by pushing the direwolf over on her side and dipping her tail in paint. By scratching Nymeria's side, the wolf thumps her tail and the eggs lined up next to it get a feathery coat thanks to her fur. ]

[And lo, the best way to paint eggs was discovered]

[ Arya, for once, is reading. Out of her own volition. It is a chemistry book and she is frowning at the pages so hard it is as if she expects the knowledge she needs to jump out of the page and into her brain. But something is something.

When her mother summons them for dinner, she calls out: ] I'm coming!

[ And doesn't move. Winter flaps over from his stand on the windowsill to perch on her book. Arya pushes him aside without looking, ignoring his calls for corn. ]

[On any other day, Henry would be thrilled. After all, a few months ago she was telling him reading didn't make any sense. It's a good hobby to pass on, as far as he's concerned.

But today he's hungry.

When she doesn't actually go, he moves slowly, dragging his feet noisily on the floor.]

Arya.

[wolfchild]

Shut up! I'm coming!

[ Passes page… ]

[He's so torn. He knows the feeling.]

At least read it while we walk there.

[Cat pokes her head around the corner, curious about the delay.]

It will not stay warm forever, Arya.

[ She casts a glare at Henry before putting her book aside. Arya stalks to the table. Only her mother's presence keeps her from throwing herself into the chair. ]

[Pleased, Henry trots after her and hops into his chair with much more enthusiasm. Ain't even mad, but very very hungry.

He peers eagerly at the food, but waits for everyone, just like his mother taught him.]

[She sets a plate down in front of each of them and one for herself before sitting down. As she leans over to serve Arya, she glances back at the abandoned book.]

What were you reading?

[wolfchild]

It's a book of chem-istry. I am reading about fires. There are ways to make fires different colors. Zelos said to look for how it's done.

[fantasies]

[Henry wrinkles his nose at the word "chemistry," a knee-jerk reaction from a truant 10-year-old at anything that sounds even remotely like school.

But he perks up at the sound of different colors. That, at least, sounds cool.]

What kind of colors? Not just, like, blue fire?

[ladywinter]

[Cat looks up, equal parts intrigued and amused.] How did you come to this topic? It seems a strange choice for conversation.

[wolfchild]

We were talking of fireworks! There were fireworks last year. Neither of us knew how they come by those colors so he told me to find out! There's different things for each color. And you have to be careful when making them so they burn when they should or the colors won't come out right.

I'm still missing purple. Once I know that one, I'll tell Zelos. [ And then they'll go set shit on multicolor fire. Responsible adults. Paradisa has them in abundance. ]
