It had been too long. Too long since she’d wandered through the woods, too long since she’d felt the grass beneath her bare feet.

Galadriel closed her eyes, letting the warm breeze blow back her hair, breathing in the first scents of spring. She placed a hand on each tree as she passed it, an almost affectionate gesture, making her way deeper into the forest.

At last, when the woods had begun to darken, the small amount of light filtering in through the canopy leaving them in a perpetual twilight, she stopped to rest and take in the stillness, unwilling to venture further- at least today.

[She sees that look and she understands, so she shifts her tone a bit, trying to lighten the subject.] Archery, woodcraft- One might almost mistake you for an elf.

[One corner of her mouth lifted at that, and she shrugged.] I don't think I'm tall enough ... or blonde enough, for that matter. I know I'm not pretty enough.

You do yourself a disservice. And we are not all blonde, I assure you. Indeed, I would say the vast majority are not.

No, not in the water. Water is the one element I can fear nothing from. Magic which touches water will be washed away as if it had never been there to begin with. But the creatures of the Wild Magic who hold mastery over the water, those I have spoken to.

She does come closer by a step or two, but while so far all the men she has met have been nice, her instinct is telling her not to get too close. "The men here have been very nice. It's been ... surprising."

Yggdrasill is apparently the name of the world tree in an Earth mythology called Norse.

Well ... I don't think what I could do what you do in regards to -- magic. But I guess you guys aren't all magical too, right? [Her lip curved up at the corners, before she went back to being serious] I didn't mean to interrupt your walk.

[Yeah, David is definitely sensing that. It has him on edge... Things that aren't normal, to him, usually do. Negative or otherwise. There was always a chance it could turn negative.]

You're not from Earth? Where, if I can ask?

The world I would call Arda, or Middle-Earth, if you wish. There are distinctions, but the terms are near enough for our purposes.

"He is an ally. His company passed through my woods not a month before I was brought here and were welcomed as guests/" Eventually, anyway. But there's no need to mention the little issue with bringing a dwarf into an Elven forest, or her Marchwarden's hesitancy to let them enter.

[Sadly, the staring is, in itself, not that unusual for her. It happens. What she's sensing off the person doing the staring is unusual, however, and it sets her on her guard.]

That would depend a great deal upon what one means by the word "magic." I would not use it for myself, though others have. [She shakes her head.] You interrupt nothing; the company is not unwelcome.

[She smiled faintly.] Well, you caught me in the middle of reinforcing my cabin roof. I'm currently expanding.

Yes, I find it so strange, that my name is the name of a world tree on Earth, when I'm so connected to my world's World Tree. Strange how things work out like that.
