IT'S A BABY-BONANZA!

Good morning, residents! Did you sleep well? You're going to need all the energy you can muster because congratulations: You're parents! Again! The Paradisa Stork has paid some very lucky residents a visit last night, and even moved them to a more kid-friendly environment.

Some of you may already recognize your little bundle of joy and--my, how they've grown! Others will have to get acquainted with their little rugrats. You may not know them, but they certainly know you. By they way? They're bored. And hungry! And they want all the attention you could possibly give them.

It's going to be a long week.

Pretend earlier today didn't happen. And play with the baby, I guess.

Sure, we can for that. [Returns to his food and he thoughts. Something feels off inside of him, but he can't quite place his finger on it. If he gives himself another minute or two, he's sure he'll get it. ]

It's a plan. [Steph goes back to her food, in a slightly better mood.]

[dorkwonder]

[Tim blinks a couple of times when he realizes what he's feeling; loneliness. Back home he has disagreements with people and does his own thing, but the Titans back him up. Conner always has his back no matter what. If Conner or Cassie was around, he could blow off steam with them, they'd validate his concerns, and he could start to move on.

He has already given Steph enough to worry about, he is not going to add that into the mix. ]

When do you think he'll wake up?

[secondchances]

When it's time for the food to come out the opposite end.

[She guesses, anyway!]

[dorkwonder]

[Once the ball starts rolling in his head, it doesn't stop. Because he is also thinking about how he can't turn to his father for advice. Rolls over onto his side, closing his eyes over. ]

You know, a nap sounds great. I think I am going to take one.

[secondchances]

Tim?

[That shift in mood was obvious. She puts her food aside, so that she can put a hand on his arm.]

[dorkwonder]

Yeah, Steph? [Keeps his eyes closed. ]

[secondchances]

Talk to me. I know when something is bothering you.

[dorkwonder]

I'll be okay. [Looks like they are both taking a page from the same book. ] I'm just tired.

[secondchances]

[SNEAKY.]

Something very bad is going to happen if both of us are pulling the "I'm okay" thing. C'mon. [Gently shakes his arm.]

[dorkwonder]

I'll tell you about it whenever we have our talk, I promise.

That's not fair.

[dorkwonder]

Why don't you share some of your thoughts and then I will share mine?

[secondchances]

I have a lot of thoughts. Give me a place to start. [She settles down next to him, on her back.]

[dorkwonder]

What were you thinking a few minutes ago when you said you'll be okay?

[secondchances]

That I need a vacation. [Quickly:] Not from you, but just in general.

Things seem pretty crappy right now, but they've been pretty crappy before, too. They got better, or at least enough time passed so that it didn't seem so bad. Ever since we've gotten back, I've kinda just wanted to curl up into a ball and cry, but I feel a little less like that every day.

[... just not today, when she did cry and go pet bunnies. Doesn't count.]

I miss the Titans, especially Cassie and Conner. They've always had my back no matter what happens. They've been with me through so many things. If all of this was happening back home, I'd get to see them during the weekend.

[secondchances]

That stings. But she's a big girl, she's not going to get upset about the implications when he's being honest. She asked for it.]

I'm sorry, Tim. [For lack of anything better to say.]

[dorkwonder]

[That was part of why he didn't bring it up. He didn't want to hurt her feelings any further, but she pushed for him to share his thoughts. ]

Me too. [Pauses, rolling onto his other side to look a her. ]

I'd miss you more if you left.

[secondchances]

[Smiles a little, though she doesn't quite meet his eyes.]

Is that everything that made you want to check out into dreamland?

[dorkwonder]

That and I don't like there being distance between the two of us. I want us to help each other get through this, not make it more challenging. [Going in for a cuddle unless she protests. ]

[secondchances]

[It takes a lot for her to decline cuddles, so there's no resistance here.]

I'm not planning on going anywhere.

[dorkwonder]

I meant more emotional distance between the two of us. [This is not how the two of them normally interact with each other, but this is also not their normal circumstances.]

I'm not planning on going anywhere emotionally, either. I'm right here.
