There are so many doors to open.
Who: Felix and Mildmay
What: Exploring yet another maze
When: Todayish
Where: the Insolitus
Rating: PG-13 for Mildmay's language, at least
Since arriving in Paradisa, Felix had set foot in this place only once, and he had been content to keep an wary eye on it's existence since. He of course had theories about what the Insolitus might actually be or why it was there, but they were still unproven. He had not been in a hurry to do so.
That wasn't why he was coming here now, though it was less and less far from his mind these days. The arrival of people from his world had made it harder to settle in this new life, when each of them continued to serve as continuous reminders of his lies, failures, and evasions. Gideon and Ashura in particular were testing his loyalties, and it was not getting any easier to keep the peace both between them and his own mind.
Felix had tried to distract himself. Ryuga's appearance had helped at first, but of course it was temporary. Academia was doing better as a replacement, fueled even as it was by an increasing amount of frustration at the oversights of others. Case in point, was the lack of information about the doors that had apparently appeared in the Insolitus following the earthquake. In months past, he might have shoved the task at someone else, but at the moment he did not care enough to do so. Luckily, he'd learned there was at least clear marks that led to the spot, so that, hopefully, even he and his now directionless brother could get there.
There was little reason to have Mildmay here, but he was vaguely aware that perhaps he had ignored his brother too long. Yet another thing to make up for.
"Just like old times," Felix said, more with a sigh than any real levity as they entered the mouth of the labyrinth.
