He that made this knows all the cost
Who: Felix and Phoebe
What: A discussion about lovers, past and present
When: Evening of 7/09
Where: Chimera HQ
Rating: Pg-13 for mentions of death
Felix sighed and rolled the bottle of wine between his palms, the glass pleasantly chilled in comparison to the warm summer air. He reflected, with a note of rueful humor, that it seemed Chimera was used almost if not more often for private meetings than academic pursuits. It simply so happened that its isolation and limited access was perfect for all manner of activities. He had maybe too much history with the place, but perhaps, for the purposes of this meeting, it was appropriate. What better place to consider his romantic past and future than the location where he'd both kissed Ashura for the first time, and where he had, against all odds, reconciled with Gideon. Time and fate had to weave itself strongly up here, and he had a brief desire to twitch his hand around the deck of the Sibylline instead of the bottle of wine. But it would do just as well for a distraction.
He topped off his glass - another empty one was waiting next to it for Phoebe to arrive - and set the bottle aside to take a drink. He sat in one of the large chairs paired by the bookcases, his temporary cane propped up at the side. It was unlikely he would get up to answer the door anyway. Walking was still a trial but getting easier with each passing day. Still, no reason to move. Phoebe had a key, and he could easily by located by the golden light spilling into Chimera's dark lobby.
