Meg could all but see the wheels turning in Cas' head. His inquisitive blue
eyes kept flicking back to meet hers as they ate in silence, and she'd be
lying if she said it wasn't doing things for her, but the hint of sadness
when he looked at her was... unsettling. He seemed to be enjoying himself,
but it was noticeable. She wanted to chalk it up to the considerable loss
he'd just sustained, but the tiniest sensation of self-consciousness gave
her the gut feeling that it had something to do with her.
She stared at him, took another bite of sashimi, then licked a drop of soy
sauce from her thumb. Resisting curiosity had never been a personal
strength of hers.
"Why so blue, Clarence? Besides the obvious. What's up with you?"
