S'MORES. THAT'S ALL YOU NEED.
Who: Lucy-B091 and Kelly-087 + HUNGRY PEOPLE???
What: MFING S'MORES. Lucy asked a very important question, and now it's camp cooking time.
When: After Tokyo, before anything else.
Where: On the castle grounds, but at a safe distance from all flammable materials and/or structures.
Rating: PD for pretty delicious; action or prose welcome!!
It's a nice evening at castle Paradisa, and two people are making the most of it. They're making the most of it by sitting around a campfire in full armor, each with a different, near unrelated appearance. But it's clear there is camaraderie between the two, as one looks mildly amused at the other, who seems to be writing something down...
If you approach, you'll note that they're looking between the writing and a huge mound of food items. Namely... super-sized marshmallows, honey graham crackers, and high quality chocolate bars. And of course sticks. Nicely cleaned sticks.
Kelly stabs a couple marshmallows on her stick and considers them carefully before looking at the fire. "So, how long do they stay in the fire?"
Lucy shakes her head, looking intently at the little bundle of sugar and watching carefully until it browns, then blackens, then catches on fire. A predictable conclusion, but she waves her hands at it as if to say "that's probably enough..."
Kelly leans forward and clamps her hand over the marshmallow to quench the flames. There's just the tiniest flicker of her shields, it really wasn't enough to register, but then she opens her hand to find a gooey mess. "Huh."
Nope. Probably not the best idea. Lucy shakes her head once more, looking amused. It's soft, melting under the heat. "Let's be more delicate next time," she seems to silently say as she picks up a stick and affixes a marshmallow to the tip.
"This is tricky." Kelly wipes her hand on the ground to get the bulk of goop off, then removes her glove completely to do a thorough cleaning later. Maybe wearing armor wasn't the best idea. "Okay, here goes." She sticks her marshmallow in the fire, then takes it out to check, then sticks it in again ... then takes it out again.
A nod from the younger Spartan. That seems to be a decent method. Her own stays on the fringes of the fire, browning but not burning. She gestures for Kelly to help her get one glove off so she can test the state of the marshmallow.
Kelly jabs her stick into the ground to assist Lucy. She keeps pulling her marshmallow out so often it's still pretty white. "So how do you know when it's cooked?"
Tilting her head, Lucy considers... Well, you have to sandwich it between the crackers.. which she points at. And then you add the chocolate, which she indicates, signaling with battlefield signals that they have to be assembled just so. So the marshmallow goes in there, too. Smooshy enough to do that, but not on fire? With her free hand, she pokes the marshmallow to see how squishy it is... Bad idea. She sucks at the tip of her finger, frowning.
Kelly nods at the hand signals, understanding that much, at least. "I'll prep." She pulls off her other glove and arranges two graham crackers, two on each hand, one with the chocolate piece on top, and then presents them to Lucy.
Teamwork!
