It's ... okay, it's an old parable from India. There are five blind men, standing around an elephant ...
[as he talks he leads him back out to the lobby and over to the elevator, intending to ride up to the top and then work their way down through the floors]
None of them know what they're standing around, so each of them reaches out and touches the elephant to try and figure it out. One man touches the trunk and thinks he's holding a snake. The second touches a tusk and thinks he's holding a spear. The third puts his hand on the elephant's side and thinks he's next to a wall... the fourth guy gets hold of a leg and says it's a tree - and the last blind man feels the ear and thinks it's a fan. Since none of them have the whole picture, they can't agree on what they're looking at, so they just argue about it forever until - well, in some versions of it, anyway - someone comes along and tells them what they're actually standing around.
I figure, the more readings I get on the ghosts and the stuff that happens around here ... the more pieces of the elephant I'll find. If that makes sense.
