Without the normal company of his fellow Marauders, Remus has taken to spending hours of his days in the library, pouring over every wizarding book he can get his hands on. Despite knowing that any knowledge gained while living in the castle walls would be wiped the moment the castle returned him home, Remus was bound and determined to continue his magical studies. After the Gentlemen invasion, he'd realized that he was out of practice and that there was a very good chance of another event happening in the future. He needed to be prepared.

That, and it might have just been boredom and a need to keep his mind occupied from missing his friends too much.

Today, however, he wasn't bent over some dusty old book under a table. No, today he had cleared a small area for him to practice in, complete with a makeshift dummy he had conjured that had been set up near the wall. He was standing a few feet away, poised and wand raised. With a short flick of his wrist, he sent a stunning spell at the dummy, watching with a pleased little smile as it flies back against the wall with a loud thump.
