Felix might have been there in body, but his mind had escaped a coherent reality altogether. Most of the words that dripped from the phoenix's mouth made no sense to him. He knew it was talking to him, from hearing his name, but the constant mention of it was becoming confusing rather than comforting. The mention of the water only escalated his panic, and the loosening of the grip to put a hand on his face gave him room to move again.
"No!" he screeched, smacking the phoenix's arm away and twisting violently out of it's grip, only to scream again when he felt the cold touch of the water. He scrambled away and climbed onto a couch, curling his feet under him as if the water were actually acid.
