[A strong wind probably could've knocked Castiel out at this point, and a hard swing from the baton definitely does it. He's out before he hits the floor, and doesn't even stir for some time; he awakens for brief moments a few times, from the cold or the pain or noises outside, but then soon lapses into unconsciousness again.
