✶ Here we are as in olden days; Happy golden days of yore ✶
Who: The Winchester family! Castiel Clarence, Meg, Dean, Katniss, Danny, Mabel, and the beloved bouncing bundle of joy, baby Sammy! yes really
What: Domestic holiday bliss and ~quality time~ with visiting family!
When: Anytime during Stepford
Where: The Winchester family home
Rating: PG-13 tops for once
There were a few brief moments of confusion when Meg woke up in a lovely, yet completely foreign bedroom. She fingered the lace of her light blue nightgown fondly for a moment - not quite her usual taste, but it sure was pretty. The mid-century looking decor flooded her with a sense of nostalgia as she sat up in bed, careful not to disturb Cas as she did, and she smiled a little dreamily as she stretched.
As she looked down at Castiel, she immediately recognized the now-familiar surge of feelings that always accompanied any world change during which Paradisa saw fit to make her human. When she noticed that he seemed to be free of the lingering cuts and bruises and swelling and that his expression was peaceful rather than strained, her smile widened and she sighed with relief.
She pulled back the lovely floral print duvet and gasped, clapping her right hand over her mouth as she stared at her left, where there was a lovely, vintage looking diamond ring on a very important finger. Meg couldn't help the tears of joy that welled up when she peeked over cautiously and saw that there was, indeed, a simple gold band on Cas. Well then.
Whatever the castle was up to this time was a mystery, but at the moment, she was frankly too happy to give a damn.

She bobbed Sammy on her knee, making him burble. "I really don't know how you do it - managing three kids and this house? And cook? And all the hosting you do? Gosh, Meg." She felt her cheeks flush at her sister's question, before answering primly (and why did that sting?). "...I really didn't have the time, with my studies."

"The Games would be amazing," she replied with a grin. "I'm sure you'll do wonderfully! You're so talented with that bow and arrow of yours. And hey, maybe you'll even meet someone abroad," she added with a wink.
She couldn't help blushing a bit despite the fact that the praise was entirely fictional, it was still fun. "I'm really not sure how I do it, either," she mused. It was true, after all. She didn't have a clue, but she could certainly play the game for the time being.

She gave Meg a wry smile. "It's not like you and Clarence - when you both just ... knew from the moment you met."

"You know, it wasn't always hugs and puppies with me and Clarence. I wouldn't trade him for the world now, but we did nothing but bicker at first."

Photo albums told Meg that she and Cas had been high school sweethearts despite him being a bit older, and that Meg herself had managed to hold down the fort working with two small children and still caring for her younger sister when their parents passed away and "Clarence" had gone off to war. It would figure that he had been a soldier. The apparently huge inheritance that miraculously hadn't been lost during the depression did wonders for their little family, but Meg hadn't been surprised to see that she had supposedly been stubborn enough to take a job as a chef, anyway.
"We probably were," she answered absently, somewhat caught up in a flood of false memories. They certainly had led quite the little lives here. She couldn't help but feel quite entitled to a little happiness for them both, considering both their made up histories and their real ones.
Part of her wondered what Katniss had been through that she somehow ended up in their makeshift family. She'd have to find out when things were back to normal.

She grinned, teasingly, "Maybe I'll marry Dean, and then we can be cousins and sisters at the same time."

At her follow up, Meg shot her a look, but her tone is light and teasing. "Jesus, Kat. Been smoking anything funny off at school?"
no subject
"Oh, Meg, honestly. Like I would do anything like that." She chided gently, before she laughed. "But I find it funny you think I'd do the reefer, just to see Dean as an eligible catch. Honestly, you two."

"Good," she answered, feigning a serious expression, but her eyes danced with laughter. "You'd have to be on drugs to go for that clown."
no subject
"You know, that's Clarence's family. His favorite cousin, no less."
