Castle held his baby girl back, wishing- as he often did when bad things happened to her, when she was scared and confused- that he could do something to just make it all disappear.

"You never know what will happen," he replied honestly. "And in the meantime, there's lots of good people here that will help look out for you. I always try to remember that. Nobody is ever alone here."
