Elena nods a little. That doesn't need any further explanation as it would seem Elena's earlier hunch was fairly accurate and she doesn't see anything wrong with it. Most teenagers push away from their mothers anyway. So maybe all they really need is someone to turn to for support when necessary, but otherwise do what they want.
