The more Jennifer found out about the kind of life Tess and Joel had come from, the more she was grateful for her own live. She wasn't sure about the part where Riley and Ellie needed to be adults here, though. They were teenagers, learning how to be normal teenagers. Jennifer knew that Tess' emotions and reactions weren't up to her, though.

"Well, at least you're not alone in raising them here," Jennifer pointed out. "I'd help. And it's not like you need to be constantly watching out for them here, either."
