He's seen her temper before, but trying to yank his ear off does seem to be an overreaction. It also seems to be pretty ineffectual. Spike has had mosquitoes bother him more than Molotov is right now. Still, since they've been on such good terms, he at least makes a show of holding his hands up to save her self esteem.
