[Spike was onto the castle since it started. Familiar voices that came through the wall were enough to make him think he was going crazy, if not for getting the sense that he wasn't the only one. No doubt some way to mock them further, and once his insanity was refuted, he happily ignored the bait, wearing headphones as he walks around the increasingly noisy lobby. It's only because of a break in the music coming through his headphones that a voice filters through, faint enough that he wouldn't have caught if it he hadn't recognized his own. "Do you know what yours is?" -- "It's you."
His eyes snap open he shoots bolt upright, throwing his headphones to the floor as he runs to the wall, pressing his ear against it.]
Don't stop there. [When it fades, he slaps the wall, for lack of other things to hit.] Come on, you asshole. [Panicked, he starts to run up the stairs, all while keeping his ear close to the wall, like all he needs to do is find the right spot. The other voices make it hard to distinguish, but he's determined. Finally he catches something else, and freezes, backtracking in his steps until the same voice pokes through. His voice again, talking to the same woman. "I missed something, didn't I?"
For a long while after that, he just stands and listens.]
