For the brief time that Chell could remember being outside back home, she couldn't remember night time. Either it, like a lot of her memories, had evaporated, or she simply didn't stick around long enough to witness it. Memories of the night sky from her childhood in the orphanage were blurry at best with only mental images of the moon and its phases. But this? Oh, nothing was better. The blue moon, the stars stretching out forever over the roof where she was lying.

It was breathtaking and the sight filled Chell with both an indescribable happiness and a feeling of being infinitely small. It was a weird mixture making her content to lay there forever lost in it all and to also burst with happiness at the beauty and freedom of it all.

Freedom. She picked herself up from the roof and dusted off her orange pants. It was still a thought that was sinking in. She was free. No sense in letting this strange sort of invincible notion of limitlessness go to waste. Casually, she walked towards the furthest point of the roof she could reach before turning back around. Taking in a lung full of fresh cool evening air, Chell started off in a sprint. Longfall boots absorbed the shock of her strides and helped spring her forward with additional speed towards the edge.

At once, a figure, some poor soul leapt from the roof. The swan dive position gave it away that this was no accident. A summersault was managed before the person hit the ground feet first at the edges of the palace courtyard.
