Jacob can't be doing all of this work just on one night, not with all these people visiting him - so perhaps on another night, when Faith was out on patrol she happened to run across the figure moving in the dark of night, working at all hours on the bike. Curiosity got the best of her and she moved toward him, trying to work out just who he was.
