[ Had it been anyone else but her mother explaining where they were and what to expect here, Arya would not have believed them. The concept was hard to understand much less swallow. But if there is someone in the world she still trusts wholeheartedly it is her mother. She would not lie to Arya. Not about something like this.

Thus after she found a moment to wander away from Catelyn, she decided to explore the castle, Needle at her side. If she was to be here for a while, she needs to know what can be found. She had always enjoyed discovering new places, talking to new people. Maybe a day to tire herself out was all she needed to sleep through the night again. ]

I've heard of White Walkers, but they're all gone. How can they walk if they're dead?

Somethin' in their brains. Some sorta virus. I dunno. I ain't no doctor.

What's a virus?

[squirrelhunter]

[Have a look, there, Arya. He's trying to judge if you're being serious or not.]

It's a type o' illness. Infects people.

[ In her mind, she's equated virus with walkers. Hopefully, no one with a cold will sneeze on her and make the mistake of explaining the cold's cause. ]

There isn't a cure?

[squirrelhunter]

Nah. Jus' like there ain't a cure fer the common cold, 'cept I'd prefer an eternal cold than bein' a Walker.

Then what do you do? [ Read: how do you kill something that's already dead? ]

Take 'em down. Need to be shot through the head, or they'll keep comin' back for more.
