A Bird With No Song [ Van & Edgeworth - Closed ]

Who: Vanyel  Ashkevron & Miles Edgeworth
What: Van is out in town, admiring some instruments, when there's a little interruption...
When: today
Where: in town
Warnings: none, PG

Vanyel had come down to town to escape the Castle, to just have a moment to himself. For once, Yfandes was not with him, she had chosen to stay out in the pastures, enjoying the nice day and the sweet grass. He did not blame here, and even if she was not there physically, he always had his link to her. He did have a companion though - his little Emolga, Ewryn. The creature was currently perched on his shoulder as he considered some instruments on sale.

Really, he should not be looking at these. They were a reminder of the thing he had lost when coming here - music. The thing he had wanted most in the world, gained through tragedy, and snatched away again. Paradisa could indeed be a cruel place. And yet, he could take his eyes away from the instruments set out, itching to touch, to pluck a melody from them. It would be so easy to reach out and touch... and yet he knew it was not. His hands would slip from them like trying to grab a greased pig and even if he got the strings, they would remain silent. Even his throat had been silence when it came to song. Not a note would spring forth, not now. It came out a horrid croak, like a frog being strangled. He had tried. No avail.

He sighed, reaching up and touching the tiny ball of fur on his shoulder, Ewryn cheeping sympathetically, sensing its trainer's melancholy as he continued to examine the instruments with just his eyes, not having the strength to reach out and try and touch only to be disappointed again.
