Who: James Potter and Hermione Granger
What: saying goodbye to Arthur
When: back-dated to last night, derp
Where: James's room that they were sharing for the plot
Rating: probably no higher than a light PG for angst
It was a week of changing diapers and sleepless nights. Hermione did all that one entrusted with a baby would do, but all the while she fought hard to keep her distance. She knew it was all temporary and the baby would disappear at the end of the week. But little by little she grew fond of Arthur. There was so much of herself she saw in the little one: the way his lip curled when he was smiling, the way he would stay awake to hear an entire story to its end, and of course the eyes.
Those were her eyes staring back at her, taking in the world and desiring to understand it.
When the time drew closer for Arthur to disappear Hermione placed him in his crib and turned away; she couldn't bear to watch. But the minutes went on and she could still hear his soft gurgling noises. She checked in and saw something she didn't expect: a door.
A free-standing door just standing there in the middle of the room.
"James." She called out the name in a strained voice. This was Paradisa, after all, and things like this never showed up without a reason.
