[Hermione can feel her mind taking her to dark places. She can feel herself traveling somewhere she doesn't want to go. These are things she hasn't thought of but are always in the back of her mind.

When her mind settles she stands in front of a house. There are tears in her eyes because of what she had to do. The road is empty: she is alone. There are paths to take but none of them look inviting. Of course she could go back into the house, but when she turns around it's already gone. She has no choice now but to face whatever the dream will show her]

Chased in the woods

[reluctantly Hermione goes into the woods, but there is the spine-chilling feeling that someone is watching her. There is a tent pitched nearby but no one inside. The quiet of night makes this scenery more ominous.

Then, a branch snaps. There are men coming for her. She knows them as Snatchers, that if they find her they will hurt her. She takes off running]

[shrugs_a_lot]

[How he made it here? Better find out how to get out instead, and he's just doing that when he listens to fast steps approaching. He turns his head to see a figure running to his way. Hey, is that--]

Hermione? [Damn, she doesn't seem to be stopping as she approaches fast towards him.]

[she sees him too late; the momentum is carrying her forward. So instead of stopping she crashes into him. Sorry, Cloud]

[shrugs_a_lot]

[Uh-oh, too late, they fall on the ground, but he tries to catch her so she doesn't hurt herself when they do. I'll be alright, he's a sturdy one. In fact he's more worried about her because she's not usually so clumsy...]

Hermione... What's wrong?

[for a moment she doesn't recognize him. But once she does she clings to him gratefully. He's got a big sword; he can help her]

Snatchers. We have to run or they'll find us. You're more in danger because you're a Muggle.

[shrugs_a_lot]

[Having her clinging to him it's odd, it's not good, she's scared and he can tell. Somehow, without letting her go, he helps her on her feet as he does the same.]

[Snatchers...? Muggles? What? Wait, he remembers that word, from that long conversation they had.] It's alright. I won't let anyone hurt you.

It's you I'm worried about. [thankfully the Snatchers aren't very stealthy in this dream: their branc-snapping can be heard a mile away]

Quick, we have to get going!

[shrugs_a_lot]

Me? I'll be fine. [At least he starts heading the way she was going to before she bumped into him.]

Where are we anyway?

Please trust me, Cloud: they'll kill you if they find out you're a Muggle.

We're in the woods back in my world. Those Snatchers are wizards who hunt down unregistered wizards. If they find those wizards are Muggle-born... We can't let them find us.

[shrugs_a_lot]

Let's hurry then. [Quickens his step.]

Why are we here?

I'm not sure.... The castle must have sent us here. [she can theorize and run at the same time. It's a skill] But this is my world, at a specific time... And I don't hear from anyone else.

[shrugs_a_lot]

What about your friends?

[courageous_wit]

Ron and Harry! The campsite should be close by.

[shrugs_a_lot]

[He doesn't ask more, and keeps running beside her, waiting to get to this campsite as soon as possible.]

[it's there, of course. The tent looks small but when she gets him inside it's much larger and looks very cozy]

They're... I was sure they would be here.

[Turns his head all around, surprised at the inner space of the tent.]

Maybe they... [got caught...] Went to look for you.

Maybe. We should stay here anyway; the camp has a lot of protective spells the Snatchers should ignore.

[shrugs_a_lot]

Alright. [He goes around the tent, examining stuff.]

Say... Why would they kill Muggles?

[courageous_wit]

Because they're bigots who believe in a "pure"bloodline. Meaning no Muggles or Muggle-born wizards. Because Muggles can't defend themselves against magic. Because these wizards think Muggles are inferior creatures.

There are many reasons.

It's not always like this. It's just we're in the middle of a war right now. People can do drastic things during a war.

[shrugs_a_lot]

[if she was going to say more, her words stop hearing branches snap outside the tent. Hermione sucks in a breath and gets tense]

They won't see us... [though it sounds like she's saying that more for her own benefit than for Cloud's]

[shrugs_a_lot]

[Cloud drives a hand to the hilt of his sword, just in case. Seeing Hermione this nervous is really unsettling for him. She's usually so calm and sure about everything.

Stealthy he heads to the tent's entrance, trying to pick any other sound.]

[there is a shape just outside the tent. It lingers, pacing back and forth making snuffling noises almost like an animal. Hermione still has her wand ready just in case but so far the shadow hasn't come in]
