This is not the Paradisa you know and love to hate. No, it's...worse.
At first glance, it appears as if nothing is amiss, but if you spend too long in any one area, you'll notice the signs. The castle, for instance, is built even more like a fort now, with soldiers manning the turrets. Anyone who's run across First Gens or met Tony Stark in his Ironman suit should recognize who they are, and that the fact that they're protecting the castle is beyond nonsensical. Or are they protecting something inside?
It doesn't matter, because the only civilians that live inside now are the ones who more or less sold their souls. The city is where you'll find yourself, which is also very different upon closer inspection. For one, there are no longer any natives. Anybody who's in the city now is someone who used to live in the castle. There are very few businesses actually open and running, and there is no cheerful chatter anymore. The silence is almost stifling, but it's certainly better than the alternative.
What's the alternative? Well, half of the residential district is also gone, leaving behind a giant crater. ...Use your imagination.
Of course you can't know exactly what's going on, but someone should. In fact, you've found yourself in front of Lana's house, and it hardly looks any different, other than the fact that the Isis Foundation sign has been torn down, and the potted flowers out front have died.
The door is open, and there are voices inside. Of course, you don't have to go inside. You could say screw that and just go figure out what's going on for yourself. But you might want to be careful where you step...
Elsewhere!
What's your call?
