It's been hours, and the woman still hasn't come back. Zeiram is still out there, somewhere, in the darkness, and you're still trapped in the empty cordon. What are you going to do?

[The blinding light that accompanied your arrival in the cordon returns. But it's not the woman who shows up -- instead, there's a small electronic device lying on the ground.

Do you pick it up?]

[Yup, sure does. She'll just turn it over in her hands and try to find a button or a switch or... something...]

[Here, have a (human) friend. She's noticing that thing!]

What is it?

[hellofist]

Don't know.

[Cass turns, to let her new friend see the weird contraption from a better angle.]

[shizue]

[She'll peek, but not opt to take it out of the other's hand. She certainly doesn't want to mess anything up! Or be rude.]

I hope it's something that will solve all this mess! That would be great...

[hellofist]

Figure... if it does something, better to... do it now. Instead of wait.

[How do you turn it on though...]

[While they're holding it, a green light comes on and that lady's voice comes out of the device... somewhere. There doesn't seem to be any kind of speaker.]

Tokyolings. Press the red button to speak to me.

[She does.]

Where are you? What do- we do now?

I am back in your dimension. The fight with that creature knocked something out of alignment on my equipment, so I won't be able to come help you for awhile. And I can't bring you back without knowing your coordinates.

[THAT'S NOT HELPFUL AT ALL. She looks at Isabelle because hey, maybe she does?]

Don't know them. Do you?

The coordinate system I use is linked to my suit. My partner won't be able to know where you are unless I'm with you.

I... I'll try my best to help you! Then you can help us! And then we'll solve this entire problem together! [So much pressure...] Thank you for the information!

[omg.] It's fine. Calm down. Are you all together? Are you safe?

Safe for now. Others are... somewhere. How do we- stop monster? If it comes back?

[WHEN is probably a more appropriate word.]

Comes back? Zeiram is loose?

Different monster came, broke cage. [It was gross.] Does it have- weak spot?

[The woman mutters something in a rapid-fire foreign language. It's probably a swear.]

There shouldn't have been more than one to begin with. Zeiram was supposed to be alone. [She starts speaking in that fast language again, though it's a little distant, so she's probably talking to someone else. A male's voice responds to her and they spend a few seconds going back and forth before she speaks clearly again.] He must have brought them with him somehow. I don't know anything about him other than he's dangerous.

My maps show that I have a weapons cache where I left Zeiram, in that construction site. Can you get there?

[hellofist]

[She damn well better be able to, going up against that thing bare handed hadn't gone as well as it should have.]

We'll find it. Anything else... we should know? Do?

Yes -- listen to me. You need to stay together so I can rescue you when the time comes. The Zone is on a set timer -- in two hours, it'll disappear. And you'll disappear with it.

Get to the weapons cache and look for a silver case. There's a powerful gun inside, though you'll need to construct it. I'd like to take him alive and get my bounty, but I won't make you do that.

[She pauses, and her voice drops slightly. She's been all business so far, but her tone softens slightly.] For what it's worth... I'm sorry this happened to you. It wasn't supposed to happen.

[hellofist]

Alive is fine. Can shoot out legs. What kind of gun? Weird space gun, or- Earth gun?

[It's that other bit that worries Cass, the part about everyone staying together. That kind of rule hardly ever gets followed, there's always someone who thinks they know better.

And Cass has been business too, it's hard to turn that off when the immediate danger is still very real, but she can at least be polite.]

No one's dead. We'll be fine.

[There's a pause on the other end, because... well, obviously a "weird space gun" is going to be normal to somebody who's from space.] It doesn't look like your weaponry.

If you can't figure it out, try to hold him off until I get there.

[And then --] I didn't even ask your name. I'm Iria.

Got it.

[It's kind of sad that they can't do this in person, Cass is getting a good vibe from this woman. Maybe they could be friends, even.]

Cassandra. Are you hurt?

A cracked rib, maybe. But I'll be fine.
