I’m holding out for a hero ‘til the end of the night;
Who: Snow White
atetheapple and Steve Rogers
valuedstrength
What: Being rescued by a knight in shining plaid :)
When: Now
Where: Some random hallway!
Rating: PG
She'd been startled out of bed by the noise. Or rather, the lack there of. There were no longer the sounds of shouting, or of metal clanging together in the distance. Her tears had slowed, and she pushed herself up onto her elbows to take in her surroundings. Nothing, absolutely nothing but the clothes she was wearing were familiar. Fear slowly starts to creep, like ice into her veins. While she'd been...While she'd been mourning the loss of her daughter, of the happy ending they all should have had together, the curse must have hit. It must have taken them and...
And James hadn't come back. She stamps down the fear stubbornly, resolving to take things one step at a time. Finding him, then figuring out where they were and- Well, she'd worry about where they'd go from there after. They could do that together, like they'd done everything else. Snow hisses out low, under her breath when her weight first transfers onto her feet as she stands, hands along the night stand, the wall, the doorframe and so on-
The pain is immense, though considerably less than giving birth had actually been, and she tries not to think about it. If she can just get down the hall, or find one of the guards...Everything would be fine.
Knocking over the vase? Well that, that was an accident, a sharp stumble when she'd tried to move too fast, but she zeroes in on it like it a thirsting man to water, and allows herself to slide down the wall, slow and with her free hand pressed to her stomach. The shards are big, big enough to deal damage with if she has to. It's not what Snow's used to, but she'll take it.
Having to get back up is something she should have accounted for. First 15 minutes in Paradisa, and she's already unimpressed. Come on magic castle, wow her.

Steve hears the crash and immediately makes a bee line toward the noise. It does not take more than a couple seconds to turn into the right hallway. "Ma'am!" Seeing a woman with a hand to her stomach against the wall is enough to make him abandon caution to the wind and go straight toward helping her. "Are you alright?"

She doesn't know everyone in her kingdom, as much as she'd like to, but he doesn't seem to know who she is either. She lets the wariness seep into her voice, but she's staying put.
"Who are you?"

Even though she's inadvertently answered the question, she'll do it properly. "It's both, I just-I just showed up here, and I've lost everything. Kind of the definition of a bad day, right?"
She'll lower her arm slowly, dropping the shard within easy reach. Steve, whoever he is, doesn't seem dangerous at all. "I'm Snow."

He leans down to her level. "I don't really know how it's possible. This is what the people who live here think is going on. This castle we're in is sentient. It brings us all here from different times and places. It takes something important away from us during the trip, but since you're already having a bad day it's better not to think about that." He gives a little shrug. "I don't blame you if you think I'm crazy for saying that. I hope you'll at least let me help you until you can get back on your feet again." He means that literally.

"Different places? Do you think you could elaborate on that point, at least? Do you just mean different Kingdoms or villages?" Because...She kind of figured, but with the different times...It just gets confusing, and so much more complicated than she thinks Regina would bother with.
But he's right, the concept of further loss isn't anything she wants to think about. At least right now. Not until she knows more about this place and...Gets off the floor of this hallway. "I don't think you're crazy, and I would really appreciate some help."

Definitely...Starting to slide into the 'insane' faction of things, but she's not new to the concept of magic, to the immense power a spell can have. It's at least, an easier pill for her to swallow than most, even if she's going to need a bigger explanation to come to believe it.
Her brow furrows for a second, before it smooths out and she smiles gratefully, shaking her head and lifting her arms to make it easier. "Not at all."

She considers the question. "I don't...Think so? From what I've seen...It's all very similar. Except, my castle is made of stone and surrounded by water on one side. The other had the Enchanted forest."
She's not aware that magic, nor a medieval setting is strange in comparison to most.
