[ Klaus had his priorities, something along the lines of: coffins, Stefan, make hybrids. Somewhere between those things-to-do he also planned to pick out a nice house for his dearest family to live in, lined with the best oak and a chandelier made of Bohemian crystal, each room furnished the way he thought his siblings would like them. He kept a detailed shopping list somewhere.

Of course, the point of owning property would be to stay (the point would be to have company to share it with) and as of this moment, he was just itching to leave and maim something on his way out, preferably both and preferably now.

He sauntered about the place to look for better playthings, meeting people's eyes and smiling when it occurs to him, and bumping past people because he just doesn't give a shit. ]

[Maya is notorious for having her mind focused on some random goal... to the point where she doesnt pay enough attention to her own two feet. Because of this, it's no surprise that she bumps into Klaus, and jumps a bit at the sudden contact. It seems her imagination was running wild for a moment before she sees- oh, she just bumped into some guys.

She laughs briefly for a second, before waving]

Hey! Sorry about that, I wasn't watching where I was going. You okay?

[precede]

[ Klaus hardly budges when he bumps into her, but he does halt his sauntering at her apology. More so because he sense no cynicism between the words. He laughs in reply and runs one hand over his messy blondes as he slowly turns around. ]

No, no, you can't ask me that. Now, are you okay?

[optimystic]

Of course I'm okay! [she grins and winks a bit. He sounds like a polite guy, so she doesn't want him to feel bad] I've handled way worse than a little bump.

Anyway, sorry to bug you. Were you headed somewhere?

[precede]

[ He laughs, or scoffs, how does one really tell as long as he's still smiling? ]

Now that I think of it-- I have no idea. Maybe you could suggest the local attractions, watering holes? You see, I'm new to town.

[optimystic]

You're new... Oh! Did you just show up at the castle! [she grins, and of course takes that laugh as a laugh... why would he scoff? he seems nice enough]

I'd be happy to show you around. And I guess I should say... welcome to Paradisa.

[precede]

That I did. Nice enough, overpopulated, could use some repainting-- now, where should we go?

[optimystic]

Well, it depends! There's the whole castle, or we could go out into town. It depends on what you want to see first.

The town is bigger and there's more stuff, but it's also full of people who live here, and they kind of don't really like the people who live in the castle. On the other hand, you might end up spending more time here in the castle, but there's a bit less to see.

[precede]

[ He crosses his arms and fidgets. ]

Choices, choices! I'd flip a coin but I hate it when something tells me what to do, so how about we take on the town first?

.......... you saw no fail here.....

[optimystic]

[haha, she laughs]

Alright then, town first! [she pumps her fist in the air, and turns around to lead the waaaaaay]

And on the way you can ask me questions about Paradisa, if you want.

[ He walks ahead of her, the smirk still playing on his lips. ]

Why would I want to ask questions about Paradisa?

[optimystic]

[.... she looks a bit confused at that reaction]

Well, you said you're new. Don't tell me you already got the whole welcome spiel?

[precede]

[ He makes a dismissive hand gesture and beckons for her to catch up. ]

I've got it. Now all I need is the welcome drink!

[optimystic]

[she laughs at that]

A bar, huh? Well you just happen to be in luck! I don't go drinking often, but my friends have shown me some pretty cool places. There's this one place that has a Tavern Ye-Olde-Dining-Hall vibe going on, while there's another place that's actually pretty modern.

Any preferences?

[precede]

[ He actually laughs in return before offering her the crook of his arm to hold, because he can be a gentleman when he tries. ]

I feel a bit old-fashioned today.

[optimystic]

[Aww. She takes his arm and grins, obviously having fun with all this]

All right then, to the old timey Tavern Bar--

.... Actually, I don't remember the name. Oh well, I'll check the sign when we get there.

Who cares about the watering hole's name. I'd rather have yours.

[haha, so smooth. It's such a nice transition, Maya can't help but laugh lightly]

[ He doesn't get to be a thousand without learning a thing or two! ]
