[Natsu never likes waking up early - and his definition of early is any time before midday, basically - but today he manages to get himself to. The reason is simple; he wants to take Lucy out for a~~n adventure~~ walk, and to do that he has to get everything ready first!

Being careful not to wake his still sleeping fiancee, he creeps around gathering a few things into a bag. When he's finished and thinks everything is all set, he promptly jumps onto the bed, probably jostling the one lying there.

Shaking her gently by the shoulder, he coaxes] Lucy, wake up! Come on, come on.

[The back rubbing almost makes him want to stop this plan, because it feels nice, but no, Natsu! You must stick to your evil doings.

He waits, feeling her come closer, before he shifts onto his side and appears to be sitting up. Waiiits again...

And then in a swift move, his other arm curls around her waist, pulling her over and down until WHOOSH suddenly she's on her back and he's got her pinned down, knees between hers and his arms still in place. He leans in, grinning oh so proudly]

Tricked you, Luuucy~ [He murmurs in her ear, laughing afterward]

[ Natsu you FIEND. Lucy tilts her head quizzically when Natsu sits up. Good, he feels well enough to do that, so maybe he'll tell her what's wrong now? ]

Na- [ AACK!! She squeals in surprise at the sudden ambush, blushing fiercely when she finds herself on her back with that mischievous, MISCHIEVOUS Natsu looking smug as anything. Oh you tricked her all right. She gives a bit of a giggle, freeing one hand to shove at him (PFF as if he'd budge from that). ]

N-Natsu! What was that for? I was really worried you know! [ Not that she minds, from the little grin. ]

[Oh that squeal makes it worth it, and so does the colouring to her cheeks, and the giggle and- Okay this had definitely been overall very worth it]

Sorry? [But he's still pleasantly grinning and it sounds more like a question than a sincere apology.

He nuzzles his face into her hair by her neck, laughing more and, of course, not budging from the little shove]

Wanted to surprise you, heh.

[ Never a dull moment, she swears. Though, so much for reading (but honestly, she didn't think she'd be able to when he was alert anyway. He'd have pestered her somehow!) ]

That's not a very convincing apology!

[ She giggles again, squeaking at the nuzzling. Why must you be so adorably mischievous Natsu? ]

Well, you succeeded in surprising me! [ gfjk blush not going away because ... well ... that position. ]

[He just laughs again, because he really can't deny it]

Aha, great! [Not that he couldn't already tell but to hear it from her makes him even more proud of this accomplishment.

He leans back a bit so he can peer at her face and meet her gaze, grin softening. He's come a long way from not noticing these sorts of... situations and positions and their implications, obviously, and so it makes his own face flushes a bit]

Hey, Lucy... [And he trails off, but doesn't look away from her]

[ At the sound of the laugh, Lucy can only grin, mentally shaking her head. He is such a dork, that Natsu. But he's her dork. Chuckling softly, she manages to swallow the worst of her amusement, watching him cautiously. You can never be too sure what to expect from this guy, after all. ]

... w...what? [ She swallows a bit at how he just trails off, not sure what he was about to say. Given how she got into this position in the first place - well. Either way she moved her hands a little, letting one come to rest over his hand, though her thumb absently ran up and down where she could feel his wrist. ]

[Onyx gaze warm and affectionate as it stares into her brown eyes, he lets a smile gentle his expression at her touch.

Natsu's not a romantic person, nor is he one who's good with words or expressing himself on most occasions (at least not in "normal ways", but Lucy has long since become the person he's most comfortable with, that special person he holds in highest regard in his heart.

In that sense, most of the time he doesn't have to rely on words for her to understand him, but sometimes... he just likes to. Sometimes he wants her to hear his feelings, wants to share them this way rather than with actions as he usually does. One of those such times is now, clearly.

He leans his forehead against hers, closing his eyes so they don't cross because of their close proximity. A small inhale of their shared breaths, and then whispered with utmost honestly:]

Love you.

[ Tha.... that wasn't what she expected to hear. Even though he wasn't the kind of guy to declare his love or anything - he let actions speak for him. But that he did this time - it just made it all the more special.

She catches her breath in surprise at first - not that she ever for a second doubted that he loved her. She knew. But to hear him say it was different. Her hands still, eyes wide as she stares up at Natsu. Or at least until he brought his face so close, his forehead against hers.

A tiny choked off noise escapes because just those two little words made her so happy. Beyond happy. ]

Natsu...

[ It's a word that escapes on her breath when she finally exhales, and she brings her arms up to wrap around him tightly. Her heart might explode from the happy, but not until she responded to him. ]

I love you too. [ She whispers back. But she accompanies her words by brushing her lips against his with a fleeting kiss. ]

So so much... I am completely and utterly crazy about you.

[Evidently the score is Natsu: 2, Lucy: 0, when it comes to surprising the other tonight, but he'll share the victory with her.

Bliss, like butterflies, flutters around inside him, causing his heart to beat faster. It consumes him more and more as she continues to speak, until he doesn't think he can handle it.

So, forgive him, Lucy, for the fact that instead of replying verbally, he flicks that switch off and returns to his usual tendencies.

Meaning that his happiness is expressed through a searing kiss that, while short, says much more than his clumsy words could have. And then he moves back and grins, in that excitable, childish way of his]

Good, 'cause I don't wanna be the only crazy one.

[ She can get used to this kind of victory. But her heart aches in the kind of good pain, when you love someone so much it hurts. Such as the case for Natsu. His response on the other hand - indescribable. It renders her breathless, makes her wonder if she herself just caught fire for as much as she melts, her eyes fluttering closed briefly as she returns the kiss.

[ Light-headed and out of breath and OH MY GOD her face is brighter than a stop sign, but she doesn't care. Somewhere in there he's speaking again, and it takes a minute for her to process the words being said, and what they mean. It takes her another minute to get her voice back, and she clears her throat with a shaky smile. ]

Never. Never ever. [ NEVER be the only one; She laughs, moving her hands to muss his hair. Like it needs help. ]

Now let me up, you goof. [ She teases, seizing hold of a pillow with her free hand and aiming to whap him gently on the side of the head. ]

[His grin is all fang and mischief at how she is left after the kiss, and it's entirely too tempting to do it again; to give in and taste her on his lips and steal away her breath. So he gives in after seeing that laugh light up her face and feeling her hands in his hair.

Except when he goes to swoop down and meet her lips with his once more, there's suddenly a pillow getting in the way!]

Uwoah! Hey, Luuucy, that wasn't nice! [Though now Natsu's gaze is alight with excited amusement] Are you trying to start a pillow fight, huh?

[ Eep! She knows that look she does! She squeals a bit at the swoop, and bursts out laughing instead when her pillowstrike meets its intended target. Wasn't nice? Maybe. But a pillow fight is always fun. She draws her pillow against her chest and peeps over the top of it at him, eyes brown eyes dancing with amusement. ]

Well! [ And she sounds so defensive of her actions too! ] You wouldn't let me up!

[ Technically he still hasn't. She's absolutely within her rights of pillow war to fight for her freedom! Not that she mind-- er, what? ]

[That stops him for a moment, because it's a rather cute move - darn you, Lucy! - but it isn't going to get her out of some sort of payback]

I ain't letting you up now, that's for sure!

[Nope, and he's going to try and pull that pillow from her grasp, though his gaze flashes up to another pillow lying on the bed]

[ There's an impish twinkle in her eyes at that declaration, and she squeaks when he pulls the pillow from her grip. Because pff, feats of strength, she'll lose every time. And he wasn't even really trying. BUT. ]

Then I'll just have to fight for my freedom! [ And she lunges for the other pillow, giggling. ]

[Even a small victory has him cheering a little, though it makes him distracted enough - because he looked away - that Lucy will most certainly get that pillow]

I'll win, you know that! [He shifts then so that his legs are on the outside of hers, using them to keep her there while he holds the pillow up almost threateningly]

You sure about this, Luce? [Grinning]

[ She can't help but smile, because this was just SO SILLY. Securing the other pillow in her hands, she brings it in front of her, eeping a bit as her legs are trapped. Well okay he had the advantage. He had strength over her. He had her legs pinned and thus minimizing her manueverability. But she had a secret weapon. Whether it would work when she unleashed it, who can say, but it was her only trick! ]

I'm as sure as sure can be, Natsu! [ ~~HER BODY IS RE-jgi;lahgnajkg; i didn'tjusttypethatshutupshutupshutup mun~~ FIRST STRIKE, she aims a whap at his head. ]

[Silly really is one of the bases of their relationship. If only he knew she had a secret weapon, then he might be a little more worried than he currently is about about winning]

You asked for it then!

[~~screaming jrtnhkrth READY FOR WHAT HUH- I MEAN~~ AHA! He expertly defends this attack with his own pillow, next aiming at her hands to try and knock hers out of her grasp]

Kyaa! [ She tightens her grip on her pillow and pulls it tight against her face at the whap against her hands. She almost loses her grip, squirming a bit in distress. ]

I won't give in so easily! [ You FIEND! She adjusts her grip on the pillow. Eeee. It's hard to get the leverage on her pillow like this, but she aims another swing, at his pillow to try and keep it away. Awaaaaaaaaaaaay! ]

Lucy went 'kya'! [He teases, imitating the highness of her voice before lapsing into laughter]

Good, I ain't gonna either! [Though whoops, he wobbles a bit at the unexpected swing. Honestly he thought his plan would work the first time, but clearly not! So he tries again!]

[ Lucy laughs at the imitation of her voice. Natsu that sounds so weird coming from you like that. Though she eeps at the second swing, this time it hits her pillow enough that she loses her grip. She quickly grabs it again with her left hand, trying to pull it back towards her before darting a glance at Natsu. Crapcrapcrap. Uh. Um! Uh! OH! A flicker of determination flashes in her eyes briefly. ]

Oh...!

[ She casts an alarmed glance over to her weapon, where her left hand is desperately trying to keep a grip on the pillow. Then back to the "enemy". Darnit. She's going to have to use That(tm) after all.

... well that's okay, since it's him. With her very best pout, she tilts her head. ]

Neeeeee, you aren't really going to hit me with that pillow, are you...

[ And she leans up just a bit, using her free hand to grab hold of his shirt to tug him close. ... Just enough so that she can skim past his lips without actually touching, in order to purrrrr at his ear softly. ]

Naaaaaaaatsuu~?

[ Lucy you are such a cheater. This is a dirty. Dirty trick. She knows this is a dirty trick. She doesn't care. It may not even work! (God knows her Secret Weapon: Sex Appeal is more miss than hit, half the time /sob) But she watches his face for any reaction, her pillow hand tightening on the makeshift weapon. The minute he drops his guard - if he drops his guard, she's attacking! ]

[ooc: Just. This ]

[Victory is within his grasp! He can practically taste it when she loses her grip on the pillow. He's going to win!

However, any thoughts regarding that quickly vanish when Lucy... when she... Oh. Needless to say, Natsu's mind goes very blank for a few precious moments.

Air catches in his throat quite audibly and his face feels on fire. Yeah, he often teases and makes fun of her failing at sex appeal, but really it... has an effect.

There's a slight whine to his voice as he tries to reply]

Lucy... that isn't fair. We're supposed to be fighting! [So no doing that and making yourself look even more ravishing okay!!!]

[ WELL. She can't help it if she's cute. It's just another weapon in her arsenal! Looking very pleased with herself by that reaction, chalking it up to revenge for when he left her breathless earlier, Lucy giggles, not looking the least bit sorry. ]

We are fighting, Natsu. [ Did she really have to purr his name? It probably doesn't help any. ]

I'm just using a different kind of weapon! [ Her grin widens a bit mischievously as her hand drags her pillow closer, though she leans in to keep his attention. Don't notice her pillow, don't notice her pillow! ]

After all, all's fair - [ She leans in closer, almost nose to nose - gasp she's going to kiss him again, in the middle of war? WHAT A CHEATER. ] in love - [ She exhales slightly. And... may not be able to hide the sudden telltale-wicked grin as she makes a quick movement to yank that pillow up and -thwap- him good over the head. ]

And pillow war!

[She certainly is using a weapon, one that's highly effective right now under current circumstances and positions. It's one Natsu has yet to ever really be able to understand or counter.

Oh, she definitely keeps all of his attention, eyes half-lidded now as she leans closer. He's also hardly following what she's saying. That grin sets off alarm bells but it's too late!

With a yelp, he finds himself falling sideways onto the bed, next to Lucy. He really should have been expecting a trick but he couldn't help that she's so distracting!]

That was mean, Lucy! [He crosses his arms and lies on his back a moment, but when he turns his head to look at her, a slow grin appears on his still flushed face] You've gotten trickier to beat!

[ She knows it was a dirty trick, but in her position it was totally fair! Also, she got a little revenge. It was worth it. ... though admittedly it had been very VERY tempting to call a ceasefire for... um. Yeah. Reasons. As it was, she's laughing when Natsu falls back, shifting in order to slide her arms around him and rest her chin on his chest, smug. ]

Aw, I guess it was a -little- unfair. [ Oh come on Lucy, you broke the poor boy's BRAIN. That goes beyond a little unfair. ]

Does that mean you surrender? [ Holy crap did she win? ]

[Oh how he wishes that they'd called a ceasefire, but even then... His competitive nature may have won out. Maybe. ~~Probably not as far as hormones were concerned whoops~~.

The laugh makes the grin widen, and with ease he does the same; holding her to him securely]

Mnn. It was.

[Surrender? Him? Though clearly Lucy had had the advantage so hrmmmm]

No way! This is... This is...

[Aha!] A tie!
