A Whole New World
Who: Todd, Open to everyone
What: Introductions and general checking the place out
When: Wed. Aug 8
Where: Library floor
Rating: G to PG (just in case)
After some interesting conversations through a magic journal with fellow people who were trapped here as he is, Todd decided he'd had enough of the fancy new bedroom-though it was indeed a nice upgrade from prison and a bench on Atlantis-and decided to explore.
He had not had any hunger pangs nor the side effects of sickness, suggesting that whatever was done to him worked where Keller and Beckett's retrovirus did not. Lacking the feeding slit in his right palm, the Wraith found himself running a couple fingers over the void skin every so often. Upon discovering the lack of one method to feed he'd tried the "normal" way. He just had to accept that the days of feeding upon humans were over with. This was what the retrovirus had been designed to do. It just so happened to happen on another world. It wouldn't be easy but he'd already tried a few grapes from the fruit bowl in his room.
Little steps.
While the tapestries and whatnot were impressive and nice, Todd found himself at a window, looking out across the expanse of this new world he'd been placed on, the scenery much more interesting to the old wraith. Until he heard footsteps and the scent of another nearby.

"Enjoying the view?" he said after a moment, watching Todd with a look of interest that didn't fit the laziness of his tone.

The man smelled strange. Human? Hard to say.
"The castle and grounds seem rather extensive, I doubt I'll be able to explore them all in a day."

He tilted his head in an appraising fashion.
"Do you fancy yourself an explorer?"

Suffice it to say, he wasn't a fan of something else pulling his strings.
"Enlighten me - what is a Stargate?"
no subject
"I will elaborate. Stargates were created to get from one planet, solar system or galaxy to another in less than a moment. A transportation device that De-molecularizes your body and sends it to a destination predetermined by a set of star coordinates. A transportation system quite simply. Some Gates are on the planet itself, others are above, accessible only by spaceship."
Get all that?
no subject
"It would be all too convenient if such a thing were available here. And if it were, I wonder if it would even function..."
His magic, that normally would have allowed crossing over the borders of dimensions, didn't allow his escape. Unless this was, as this 'man' suggested, another world entirely.
"And you travel through these gates often?"

She's curious by nature, but also unfailingly polite. So however much she may be wondering about the stranger, she's not going to ask outright.
"Such a day is wasted indoors, truly."
no subject
What was she?
Todd nodded and replied, "Indeed so, the grounds of this place seem very extensive."

Her face, like her voice, is difficult to read. It's not that she's pleased to be here. Quite the opposite, in fact, but she sees little point in bemoaning her fate.

"...Who are you?" Todd asked quietly
no subject
"It will mean little to you, I fear, but I will tell you all same." And here she gives a deep, formal nod, accompanied by a slight bend at the waist. It is, unmistakably, the gesture of a woman accustomed to power.
"I am Galadriel, Lady of Lórien and the Galadhrim."

A name and a title. Not military or science...A place it sounded like.
"The humans call me 'Todd'" the wraith replied after a moment.

However, it looked like she didn't have much of a choice but to try and roll with the punches. But she still needed time to herself, to think, to sort everything out, to try and figure out what she had lost upon being brought here.
Her feet eventually found a library, finding who else but Todd had also been exploring and ended up here. She stood for an awkward moment, considering whether to talk to him or sneak away before he noticed her, then decided to just bite the bullet, moving to stand and watch the scenery beside him.
the only way to arrive XD

She wasn't entirely sure how to feel around him, and not needing to feed certainly did not make him any less dangerous- but they were stuck here together, and she had to hope they could still be allies, however shaky their alliance sometimes was.
"Don't misunderstand me, I'm still plenty nervous," she said plainly. "But... knowing that does help a little, I'm not going to lie." She sighed and looked out the window. "And I'm guessing both of us are feeling more than a little lost right now. Misery loves company and all."

"However I consider myself fortunate that I am allowed to wander about the place freely. Otherwise this place would be no different than the Genii prison. Appealing decor and landscapes or not."
A dry chuckle.
"I suppose I'll be coming to you and Doctor Beckett to figure out what I should be eating when the fruit bowl runs out."
no subject
"I'll be sure to show you where the kitchen is, at least. I can't cook worth a darn myself, but I'm sure someone here can teach you."
Her expression then sobered.
"And we are provided for. There could be worse places to be trapped, I suppose." She stared down at herself- still clad in her Atlantis uniform, unwilling to part with it just yet. "I'm trying to figure out what they took from me. I think it was some of my memories, but I have no way of knowing for sure."

"... You don't happen to have run into anybody else familiar yet, have you? I've only seen and spoken to you and Carson... if the rest of the crew are here, they've been silent."
