Introducing the People of Paradisa

Who: The Lord and Lady of Lothlórien & Everyone
What: While the two love birds have a romantic picnic within the courtyard, several nosy imps decide to crash their little party.
When: Midday
Where: The Gardens
Rating: PG-13 and much embarrassment on Celeborn's part.

[The gentle autumn breeze welcomed the two star-crossed lovers as they dined together upon several blankets spun from the finest wool. It was the perfect afternoon for a picnic, one comprised of clear sunny skies damped in bright cyan and fluffy white clouds that rolled past in an endless march to the distant horizon. Such a day was like most others here in paradise but what made this day so unique from others was two lovers who sat under the shadow of a sturdy maple tree. They dined and laughed in unison, the two of them greatly enjoying their time together in the form of flirtatious quips and innocent kisses. It was quite ridiculous how in love these two were but anyone with eyes could tell that they're definitely take their vows seriously.

Gently brushing his lips against Galadriel's hand, Celeborn was honestly not aware of the small crowd that gathered nearby. It seemed that many of Galadriel's friends have taken an interest in their timeless romance, many of which seemed more impish than curious. While he most certainly welcomes any and all of his wife's dear friends, Celeborn might be the first to remind them that this sacred time he shares with his beloved is his and his alone.

The Lord of Lothlórien can be a tad selfish like that.]

The glorious shine of the day fails in comparison to your beauty, my eternal queen.

[He whispers quietly with a faint smirk curling upon his lips. Celeborn could go on for days in admiration of Galadrial's celestial beauty but he rather not embarrass her so in public.]

The moon has a beauty of its own. One need be blind not to see it.

I have over a year's worth of such endearments saved. I hope you do not expect an end to them soon.
inafadingcrown: (May your treasure remain with you always)

[In response, she just leans forward and kisses him again. When she pulls away, though, there's something slightly sad in her eyes. She hesitates for a moment before speaking, reluctant to spoil the mood.]

There is another you once adored with all your heart. [A little sigh] I would that you remembered her, my love.

I do.

[She raises her hand to his shirt, idly fiddling with a button. Perhaps it was better to leave him in the dark- to allow him to believe their daughter was still happy and well in Rivendell. But she could not. There have never been secrets between them and certainly none as important as this.]

There is much I should tell you, yet I scarcely know where to begin.

[It's impossible to say. Some people remember what they are told, but cannot recall it for themselves. Others forget once the conversation is finished. If she must, she will write it all out for him. But they'll cross that bridge when they come to it. She's quiet for a moment longer, just sitting there with her hand in his.]

It has been long since we have seen our Celebrían; she has sailed West before either of us. [The reason is almost more painful than the fact itself, so she pauses, both to let him process it and to prepare herself for the rest of the story.]

[She takes a deep breath and dives right in. It's obvious from her eyes that, however long ago it had been, there was still a great deal of pain there.]

She was taken...captured by orcs and subjected to such torments as I dare not speak of, not even in the light of day. Her sons came to her rescue and Lord Elrond healed her as best he could. [She looks away.] But he could not heal her in spirit.

[She raises a hand to his cheek and rests it there, a gesture intended to be at once calming and comforting.]

Your wrath has always been fearsome when earned. You were no different then.
inafadingcrown: (Their regret is undying)

[As much pain as the topic brings her, as difficult as it is, she can't help but offer a gentle correction.]

Blame not the Valar, my love. Or if you must, blame me equally, for it was I who earned their wrath. Were not my kin cursed to woe for our sins?
inafadingcrown: (To bear a Ring of Power is to be alone.)

No, I think they would not. I think they had little hand in it. [It's just that if they did, that was surely the reason.]

I, too, am more inclined to blame chance and the orcs who took her. [And herself, for not foreseeing it, but she won't tell him that.]
