Who: Peter and Phoebe
What: having some pre-marital fluff
When: tonight~
Where: Abel's church in the castle
Rating: cavity-inducing fluff
Peter twisted the ring around on his finger. It was a little too big for him but he liked the feel of it. Especially now, so close to his wedding day.
Wedding day. It still blew his mind. He was getting married. And he was here standing at the entrance to a church waiting for her. It was a special church, too: Abel's church. There were so many memories in this place that Peter didn't often come here. But this felt like the right time.
It was like a way to start over, to make a new memory.

She holds a hand out to him as she gets closer, "I hope I didn't keep you waiting too long."

"Not that long," he assured her, reaching for her to pull her close and kiss her in greeting. "We have the church to ourselves. I was thinking we could go in and light a candle."

"We can send up a prayer for those who can't be with us." Whether due to the castle or death she finished silently. Her mind flit to Piper, Leo, the boys and the rest of her family she wishes could be there, including the ghosts of her mother and grandmother. However, she knew that even if they couldn't be there in person they were still in her heart.

Before the altar he lit a candle. "I wish they were here, too," he said. He was responding to her thoughts without meaning to.

She watched him light the candle with a sad smile on her face. His comment drew a soft laugh before she could stop it, "You always seem to say exactly what I'm thinking. Either we're that in tune or you're cheating."

He took her hand in his. His fingers tingled from all the memories he felt through that hand. "Sometimes I wish I could share it with you," Peter sighed.

She smiled, lovingly gazing up at her fiance. "I don't mind. I have nothing to hide from you. And I lost that power for a reason. I'll get it back someday but for now I'm perfectly content experiencing it through you."

Nathan was gone, but this one piece was still around and Peter wanted to give it to Phoebe. That's what the gesture meant.

For a moment she just stared at him in awed silence. She knew how much that ring meant to him and how much it must have meant for him to even offer it to her. A smile crossed her lips as she slowly reached out to wrap her hand around Peter's and the ring. "I'd be honored."

There was something about being with Phoebe that made the darker memories weigh a little less.

"I feel like I know them so well through you and your love for them."

"Are you okay?"
no subject
"I'm more than okay. It's just so much... All of this. I wish there was a way to share it with our families." There was also the fact that people keep asking her why she wants to get married here with the constant threat of being sent home. She wished she could share how she felt right now and tell them 'this. this is why.'

She reached up and touched his cheek, "I love you, Peter. Through everything that's happened here and everything we've been through there's always been one constant. This. Us." She knew it sounded like wedding vows and in some ways they were. Her own private vows to him.
