Masquerade Continuations
Who: Kitt and Kenzi
What: Continuation of the Masquerade from here
When: Masquerade night
Where: Transitioning into the Gardens
Rating: R? I dunno.
(Note: This is because of how full the Party Post is getting. I'd rather not break the post and lose out on being able to play this out with my partner.)
"A bit better. Kinda stuffy in there. I like the lack of trolls out here, too." She snuck another glass of water from a passing tray, holding it up for Kitt. "I recognize the squinty-eye thing. Just drink it and don't argue."

He took the glass, drinking half of it in one gulp. "The trolls were sort of scary. Have you seen any before?"

In the garden setting, Kenzi looked almost like a faerie herself, a delicate little pixie amongst the leaves. She looked beautiful. He might have murmured it to himself; she might have heard him.

Alone. Until he'd found Kenzi.
He realized he was still holding his mostly-empty glass of water, so he finished it, setting it down next to him on the bench before sighing and leaning back into Kenzi.
"Why were you so upset?" His words were spoken slowly, as if he had to remember how to enunciate, but the slur was mostly gone, noticeable only in the too-long 's' sounds. Like he had to remember how to stop his tongue.

She looked down at her hands in her lap, fidgeting with her fingers as she thought about it. Hell, would he even remember com morning? "I wasn't upset, exactly..."
no subject
Then again, distractions were always nice.
"You were upset." He looked at her, too sadly. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you."
no subject
"I was jealous," she bit out, hating having to admit it out loud.

Her hand moved to take his, fingers lacing in it as she looked over at him. "I'm sorry."
no subject
If he were more sober, he might have pointed out to her that he wasn't like most other men. Then again, if he were more sober he probably would never have made his admission in the first place.

God, she wanted it to be true. Wanted to fling herself around him and kiss him and tell him to say it again... but she didn't want to chain him to something he might not be sure of.

All the watery metaphors. He was up to his ears in liquid.
He set his mouth into a thin line, a bit put out now that he'd given himself a moment to process what she'd said.
"I had feelings before I became human. I understand what love is. I loved my friends. Just because it never felt like this doesn't mean I don't get it."
He crossed his arms, daring her to argue with him.
no subject
She looked at the pout, trying not to smile at it. He looked like a four year old about to throw a temper tantrum.
no subject
"I was an artificial intelligence! Just as sentient as you were! I wasn't supposed to have feelings, but I had them! I still do!"
Cue one temper tantrum.
no subject
She looked up at him earnestly, hoping this was flitting in mast the muddled drunken ramblings.
no subject
"It's not scary with you."
no subject
Hell, they'd already had one massive argument because of sexual tension, and this little mini-spat was probably only one of a billion to come.
