It's high time Mabel puts her ability to wish for anything to good use. She's got a long list of requests. So she's heard about that one time that everyone suffered for their wishes. Pfffft! That's in the past, and she promises to wish cautiously. She'll only wish for things that she absolutely needs.

What she absolutely needs is a bounce house.

It's a simple bounce house. Her only desire is to jump, not race awkwardly through an obstacle course. There's only so much enjoyment a kid can get from jumping on their bed, and what better way to fulfill the need to bounce than to wish for a quality bounce house? It's pretty great if she says so herself.

Mabel can be found inside the house, jumping and laughing and giggling to her heart's content. Anyone at all is free to join her, though she won't hesitate to remind others to play nice, remove all sharp objects, and always always keep their socks on.

The closer Pepper comes, the louder Mabel's giggles will be. Even if she's by herself at the moment, she's had several visitors join her for a good bouncing. It's enough to drive her spirits sky high and keep her happy even now.

Looking inside, Mabel has even mastered a somersault! She's going for a record, seeing how many times she can successfully consecutively somersault. Three... four... five? Five. That one totally counts.

She chuckles. "I must admit, bouncing is not particularly enthralling when one can dive off of clouds without a second thought."

Chase has just returned from a quick trip into town, carrying two bags of groceries. He spots the brightly colored house and decides to take a closer look at it. He's pretty it wasn't there before (as in -- less than thirty minutes ago and it's hard to miss something that takes up this much of space in the front lawn).

"What's the occasion?"

Julie's just walking back from checking on 9 Lives (which has a dent in it, thanks to Ezio's little fiasco last week), and she blinks in surprise when the bounce house looms in front of her.

Curiously, she walks up to it, around the slide, and peeks inside. She's never seen this kind of thing before, and it smells weird and rubbery, but... not unpleasant? And it looks fun, too. She watches Mabel jump around for a little before speaking up.

"Let me guess, no grown-ups allowed?"

Jane seems to get back into the rhythm of the bounce house again, and even when she's feeling a little unbalanced, she slows a little and steadies herself against the wall, which admittedly isn't often.

"Go for it!" She tells Mabel, "But do be careful!"

[huffythedragon]

Wow. Her teeth shine like diamonds. How does that even happen? Still, admiration is admiration. He'll certainly never turn it down.

"I sure am!" he pauses at that last request. "Uh...sure I guess?"

He cautiously opens his mouth, revealing some very very oh jesus so very sharp teeth.

Oh, isn't this an interesting contraption.

Cinna approaches it from behind, eying it curiously as he notes the young girl bouncing inside of it. A bouncing castle? He knows he may be a bit off on the terminology of it, but its concept is clear as day to him.

The citizens Capitol would find this too...well, simple for their tastes. Maybe if it gave them a manicure and pedicure and did the bouncing for them...

Pepper doesn't need to be inside to see the bounding figure moving up and down in the middle of the interior. She smiles a bit and has to admit the laughter is a bit infectious.

"You seem to be having a great deal of fun."

Aradia made a perplexed noise as Mabel shooed her out, something that sounded vaguely like "wat." But - okay, rules were rules. She quickly unequipped her shoes and leg wraps and switched them for regular socks. The horns were a little more problematic, though. They weren't as sharp as some of her friends', but pointy enough nonetheless.

"Um..." She thought for a second before taking out a second pair of socks from her sylladex, and began tugging one over the tip of her horn. "Does this work?"

"Jeez, alright." She backs away from the mesh, wiping her face as she does so. "It's not like you can't clean it."

But she doesn't leave. Instead, she sort of hovers around the front of it, examining her hands and jacket to see if she can get anymore of the dirt off. She hasn't been on one of these things in forever...

"Hey, is there a garden hose or something around?"

Hellboy is in the middle of doing his usual walking-around thing when he notices ... this ... on the lawn.

He's never been in one of these before, one of the many things he laments about his childhood (not really), so he just kind of gazes passively at the jumping and leaping within.

"That's not going to give you a stomach ache or anything, is it?" he says to the first person who spills out.

[mispronunciates]

Well, that hadn't been a reaction he was expecting. He shrugged, the spikes on his shoulder guards glinting in the sun, and started wandering over.

"Okay...."

[bezazzled]

When she's got enough height, she gives Jane a thumbs up, a look of determination on her face. She's totally going to nail this one.

"Here I go!"

Hup! She flings her body forward on the upward motion. This time, rather than flop on her backside, she just barely manages the flip. She spreads her arms out to steady herself after the initial surprise of pulling it off.

"I did it!"

Oh, she sees that shiny glint that tells her he is not at all safe just yet. She scurries out to meet him and puts her hands out in front of her.

"Hold it right there, mister! We've got to lay some ground rules down. You can't just barge into the bounce palace all willy nilly without knowing the basics!"

She turns to gesture toward her majestic, inflatable palace.

"You see this? It's like a giant balloon. And those," she points to his spikes, "are definitely not balloon friendly."

"Wow!!! You really did!!"

Jane's grinning as she claps. There's no way she could manage anything like that on her own, so that flip was definitely impressive!

[bezazzled]

"I guess, but when was the last time you bounced? I mean truly bounced? From within?"

She's clutching the front of her sweater. She means the heart, whatever that's supposed to mean.

From inside the house comes a rather cheerful sounding voice, though it's also a bit out of breath.

"The occasion... is today is... a perfect bouncing day! Want to join me?"

It's hard not to notice someone peeking inside the majestic blow-up building, so Mabel's not at all surprised to hear her when she finally speaks up.

She stops her bouncing in order to walk on her knees toward where the girl is standing.

"Pfft! Not at all! This bouncy house is open for all ages! Provided you know how to have fun and also be safe. And keep your socks on, of course."

She sees that staring. That is definitely the look of another person who has never experienced the joy and wonder of this amazing contraption. Mabel, of course, will have to fix this ASAP.

"Hi!" she says with a breathy voice. Jumping all day is liable to tucker anyone out! "Wanna come in?"

It's a-her, Mabel! She slides on out of the thing after spending the majority of her afternoon inside and looks up at him with a smile.

"Not if you bounce on an empty stomach! Then it just works up an appetite."

Seven, eight--Whoops! She flops awkwardly on her stomach but seems to recover just fine, looking over at Pepper with a wave and a smile.

"It's a total blast! I don't know why this isn't a permanent fixture here."

[bezazzled]

"A garden hose--? Oh!"

She makes her way to the entrance of the house and slips out of it to properly stand in front of the muddy girl.

"I thought I saw one over here. If you wash up a bit, I wouldn't mind you coming inside if you want?"

[bezazzled]

Mabel took a moment to seriously examine the now covered horns. And then burst into giggles.

"You look so silly! But yes, that definitely works just fine. And thanks for being a good sport about it. Rules can be a bit pesky sometimes, but they're a necessary evil."

[bezazzled]

The sound Mabel makes is nothing short of embarrassing and ecstatic.

"Look at those teeth! They're so sharp and deadly, and yet so adorably tiny!" She closes her eyes and squeals, kicking her feet about. She's this close to just rolling around in glee.

"Spike, can I just, like, hug you? Right now?"

Mabel cheers at herself, and then reaches to pat herself on the back for what she deems is an amazing feat.

Now, why hog the spotlight when she can share it?

"Your turn! Let's see what you can do!"
