This Land. [Open]
Who: Hoban Washburne and YOU.
What: Wash's arrival in the castle.
When: Evening.
Where: Bedroom, hallway, corridors - you'll meet him somewhere on his journey.
Rating: PG.
"Aah!"
He sat up, and looked down. Because he was not in his pilot's chair - having performed a feat of piloting that one really would want to brag about - and this was definitely not Serenity. Frankly, it looked like some of the old holo-vids he'd seen over the years. He half expected a guy in tights to come swinging out of nowhere saying that they had to save the princess.
The next thing he noticed was that he was in a comfortable bed. This was also new. And he had a book. And a pen to write with, which was...nice. He'd not written by hand in...well, he couldn't even remember how long.
It took a bit to figure out the book, but he wrote in it, and would continue to do so as he ventured out from a room that, to his utter shock, bore his name.
But the fun part was just beginning, really - namely, exploring this place with a book clutched to his chest (which itched something fierce), and trying to figure out just what the heck had happened to him.

As they walked, Simon was silent for a moment as he gathered his thoughts.
"Well, first things first- you can wish for those sorts of things. Just do it, and they will appear."
To demonstrate, Simon held his hand out and wished for a pen- and just like that, one appeared.
"Obivously, it won't give you everything- like a way to escape here, for example- but you can, at least, feed and clothe yourself. There is a town outside the castle as well, and there are a lot of shops. We do have currency here- some people get jobs, while others simply wish for some whenever they need it. We have everything we need, more or less, as far as material wants go."

He cocked his head though.
"Wait, so, if people wish for cash, but they can pay for things with that imaginary cash, how does anything have any value here? Also, I'm out of a job twice over. No flight and no crime? This is a bit of a downside, resume wise."

He then frowned.
"That did not occur to me. We'll have to find something for you to do... I am sure someone in this castle can find you something."

He paused.
"Rather than a big giant castle of weird. I mean, geez, I could fly Serenity down some of these halls."
no subject
"Believe me, you have not experienced much of the strangeness that comes with it yet- the size of the thing is the least of your worries."
no subject
He grinned at the man, shaking his head. "You're doing way better at that whole 'reassuring' thing. No, really, Like a fish on a bicycle."

"... I do seem to have a special talent for that, don't I? Open mouth, insert foot. But, really, I'm not trying to scare you or anything like that- I just feel it would do us all well to be prepared."
