[ When she wakes it is with a start, body tensing as her eyes snap open. She's not a deep sleeper, not like a long shot, unless thoroughly exhausted. So how he managed to climb into her bed without her waking is a mystery to her. Even more so than why he would come all the way from the town just to--

Sitting up suddenly, she pulls the blankets to herself, shuffling towards the edge of her bed in an attempt to put space between them. ]

Gwaine. [ Wake up. Now. And please get the hell out of her bed. ] Gwaine.

It is... okay. [ She brings a hand up to where his had been merely seconds ago. Dammit, why do you have to do these sorts of things. ]

Thank you.

[impetuous]

[ Because he wouldn't be him unless he did. And you wouldn't like him half as much. He nods wordlessly and resumes eating. After a moment, he laughs softly and turns his head to look at her. ]

This is actually nice. If it were not for the locked-in part, it would be great.

[videres]

You are right, being locked in does tend to ruin things. [ It really is nice, being in his presence. Ironic, she thinks, as such a thing wouldn't have been possible before. ]

At least the company is pleasant enough.

[impetuous]

[ He raises his glass to her, a small smile playing about his lips. His eyes never flicker away from her face.]

I will drink to that.

[videres]

As will I. [ She mirrors the motion, lips twitching into a smile she can barely contain. She doesn't break gaze with him, even as she takes a drink from her glass.

This is better than what happened last time, she will admit. Much better. ]

[impetuous]

[ He's content to finish the rest of the meal in relative silence. One of the few surefire ways to get him to shut up: feed him. And he is content here. The food is good, the company doesn't scowl or sigh at him and he has a break from the menagerie that is usually sleeping on or around him. If it weren't for the fact that he cannot leave, and it is something that bothers him a lot more than he let on, he would be very happy right now. ]

[ It bothers her as well. More than she'd ever be willing to admit. the very thought of being unable to leave, regardless of who she is stuck with, strikes an uneasy cord within her. She doesn't like being trapped, helpless to free herself. It is like being in Camelot again, forced to live under the rule of a king who would have her killed if he learned the truth about her.

Once finished, the ghosts collect the empty plates and glasses then vanish without a trace. Leaving them behind in the overly decorated room. ]

Would you like anything else?

[impetuous]

[ Leave. The answer is on the tip of his tongue, but he manages to swallow it with a ready smile. ]

Not at the moment. ...Actually, there is.

[videres]

[ Aside from leaving, obviously. ]

Oh? And what is that?

[impetuous]

[ He subtly palms one of the smaller flowers strewn close by (the years of practice stealing came in handy today) and, with the same hand, brushes Morgana's hair over her ear. When he pulls his arm back, he produces the flower. ]

I believe this is yours.

[videres]

[ She laughs, she can hardly stop herself, shaking her head slightly. It is almost adorable how simple it is, not at all like a the grand gestures she is used to getting from men seeking her favor. She takes the flower from him, spinning it a little between her fingers. ]

It's beautiful.

[ Clearly amused she leans over and places a soft kiss on his cheek. ]

[impetuous]

[ His smile widens at the kiss. He does not raise a hand to his cheek, but the area she touched feels oddly warm. ]

It's only fitting: a flower for a rose. [ He stands in order to stretch. ] What would you like? As your uninvited guest, I am at your command, my lady.

[videres]

[ She tucks the flower nearly into her hair, a little above her ear, and tilts her head. At her command? Those words can be dangerous. ]

At the moment, nothing. I am fairly content.

[impetuous]

[ He picks at one of the glittery hearts and makes a face when his hands come away covered in glitter. ]

Now I see why everyone seemed so suspicious of the date. Does the castle do something for this day every year?

[videres]

[ Her smile drops, annoyance moving in to replace it. ]

Unfortunately, yes. Although it is generally less intrusive than this.

[impetuous]

What has it done?

[ OH YE GODS THE GLITTER IS STUCK TO HIS HANDS D: ]

[videres]

Last year it was these... candies with writing on them, were people foolish enough to eat one they would be compelled to do whatever the writing depicted with whomever they laid eyes on.

The year before that, I believe, it gave us all bows and arrows. [ She shifts, her demeanor changes, becoming uncomfortable and closed off in a matter of seconds. ] Whoever got hit with the arrows fell in love with the person who shot them.

[impetuous]

What? [ He scoffs as he tries to scrape the glitter off his palms. ] Compelling actions and forced love.

[ His tone when he says "forced" is dark. He still recalls Julia's face that morning when their loss ended. It is an expression he does not want to see again, much less on someone like her. Shaking his head, he glances at Morgana. ]

This place really h—are you all right?

[videres]

I'm fine. [ Too quick. She frowns, scolding herself and shaking her head. Far too quick. Even after so long the memories are still fresh, still able to make her skin crawl. ]

I do not have pleasant memories of the holidays past.

[impetuous]

[ He can only guess as to what happened, but his mind is all too ready to supply him with terrible situations. He observes her quietly for a moment. When he clears his throat, he does not ask for details and he sounds like he is speaking more to himself than Morgana. ]

No. I suppose many wouldn't.

[videres]

[ She is relived more than he'll ever know. The memories are not ones she ever wants to relive, or speak of ever again. Inhaling she forces herself to relax, this is not going to be like that, it won't. She may very well come out of this with memories she will cherish rather than memories she will want nothing more than forget. ]

Indeed.

[impetuous]

[ He scrubs at his hands. He finally makes a frustrated sound when the glitter still stubbornly clings to his skin. ]

What are these things?

[videres]

[ Wonderful, a distraction. Blinking she gets up and moves over to him, taking a hold of one of his hands to take a look.

When she does she cannot help but laugh a little. ]

It is glitter.

[impetuous]

Glitter. [ Wonderful. Now. Onto the pressing matter at hand. ] How do I get it off?

[videres]

Try washing your hands. [ To help, as she is the most helpful, she wishes up a bowl of warm water, soap and a towel try dry his hands on. ]
