[certain things were hard to grow out of, and barnaby's morning routine of waking up early was one of them. thankfully in the time he'd been in paradisa he'd learned to sleep in at least an extra half hour (maybe an hour if he was feeling particularly risky enough) but today wasn't the case. not because he'd had the urge to wake up, but because something else was making him wake up. some weird... scent?

turning onto his side and rubbing over his eyes with a sleepy groan, he attempted to squirm his way to the other side of the bed in order to reach out toward his side table. glasses, glasses... except instead of reaching the other side of the bed barnaby suddenly found himself pressed against a very warm, large, firm, almost person-sized weight.

[ turning around and hiding behind his fingers ] Well I can't do this either!! I've never done this ever! I can't even rip out windows from walls even if I tried!

[ pointing to the walls ] Did you start ever wishing things in your sleep?! Wish for you windows back at least!! [ so he can jump outta them ]

[mettle]

As far as I know I don't even talk in my sleep so, why would I suddenly start wishing for things that way?! [okay definitely not keeping his cool during all this, and kotetsu freaking out and being so upset isn't helping out either. however, someone has to be the adult here and figure out what's happening so as he looks back over to all the flowers barnaby tries to figure out just what exactly all of this means.

red, flowers, hearts, silk sheets, candles........ this is all a little too romantic for his comfort-- and that's when he figures it out, and he looks back over to kotetsu with a mixture of shock and even more embarrassment]

I can't fix it, it's... it must be the castle. The castle did this, because it's February.

It's almost Valentine's Day.

The castle? Is this another one of your theories on.. creepy rooms and creepy beds?! And then there's Valentine's Day..!

[ a beat ] ... Eh? Valentines?

Wait, already?

[mettle]

[nodding hesitantly]

I think today is the eleventh, so we have three more days. I'm not sure why it would do something like this so early, but... I suppose it's difficult to explain anything the castle does.

[dad]

Eleventh.. [ he aint on year older yet. hallelu. ] Well why are we stuck in, er, this kind of room when it isn't Valentine's yet?

[mettle]

The answer is rather obvious by now. To make us uncomfortable and miserable.

At least, for those that don't particularly have a need for this sort of... setting. [staring down at the sheets, shaking them a little in order to get rid of those flower petals. he doesn't exactly look miserable but he's definitely uncomfortable]

[dad]

Okay, well. If you're sleepy still, just go back to bed. I'm.. going to look for a way out of here. So you don't ever have to worry about me climbing into your bed like this ... again.

[ moving to do oyaji escape ]

[mettle]

[are you seriously ditching the guy that has feelings for you in a valentine's themed room. really????? FOOL. borna just sort of sits there with confusion clear on his face since he doesn't really know what to do. he knows he should just let kotetsu go because this isn't his room but, still........ it's like he's being rejected and that's just not cool]

--wait, Kotetsu.

[quickly trying to climb out of bed. he's got a black t-shirt and boxer shorts, hurna]

[dad]

[ what do with feelins. stopping and covering his face, gugu. ]

[be a man you loser, jeez. looking over at him then just deciding he's not going to bother with discussing any of this, making his way over to the door]

I'll check. More effort seems to have been put into this as compared to what happened in Paris and there's the possibility that the castle will then do just about anything to keep us here. There could even be a trap, so please at least let me handle this for the moment.

[dad]

[ turning his head to look at. kinda blooshing ] Well, you don't have to? Like I said if you were sleepy...

Plus, did you move your bathroom before this? I ... gotta use the can.

[mettle]

I assure you I'm very awake at the moment. [tugging at the door and nope, not opening. he'd attempt to use his hundred power if he actually thought it would work, instead turning over to oyaji and sighing]

The door to the bathroom was originally in the living room but I decided to include a small one here as well. The door should be-- [looking at all dat lace] Behind one of those lace curtains.

[dad]

There are such things as lace curtains? [ turning to wherever borna's looking.. all he sees is gross bed and kinda dark wall ]

... There? Like 'there', there? Where it's all dark and scary? Things could be hiding behind those curtains if there's more than one!!

[mettle]

I'm not sure, but that's what they looked like to me. Everything in this room is a bit gaudy so I supposed lace curtains would just fit.

[RETARDIA. adjusting his glasses and making his way over to the wall at the farthest side of the room]

There should be a light-switch near the door. Please turn it on.

[dad]

Is that what your doing, though? Light-switch finding? [ starts caressin the wall. why are there like no lights are they in box trapped forever or what. ]

I'm not quite sure that I'll be finding much of anything, honestly.

[looking over his shoulder]

[dad]

Good.. morning?

[mettle]

...good morning.

I apologize for waking you up the way I did. Especially the yelling.

[dad]

[ no more awkward times. too many of those already. giving up with the search, he's too oyaji to go through the wall.. again.. ] It's fine! I've been kicked out of bed for more worse.

And I can't find the switch over here. [ thumb points at his wall ] Any luck there?

[mettle]

[too much information.... not looking at him as he raises an eyebrow. thankfully when he pulls back one of the lace curtains there's a door that looks exactly like the bathroom door, and when it's openned there is in fact a bathroom in there. smaller than his other one since it just has enough room for a sink, toilet and shower but oh well.]

No switch, but the bathroom is still here. [and then he realizes there are candles in the bathroom too. but, only candles]

At least it's not as exceedingly festive as the rest of the room.
