Who: North
ol_northy and South
i_got_this Dakotas
What: DRAMADRAMADRAMA
When: The wee hours of the night/morning after North's arrival
Where: Norths' room
Rating: R because South's a pottymouth and drunk. And South. Also H for heartbreaking and Y for YWOULDYOUEVEN
South had told Carolina time and time again that she didn't know what to do if North had ever shown up, and his sudden appearance proved her right. Their initial conversation had been cut short, South weighted down with unhappy knowledge and personal demons that proved to be too great for her to confront at that moment. She'd cut out as soon as she could and sought out Crowley, who had helped to get her shit-faced drunk to try and come to terms with her twin's presence and what to do about the 'things' she knew.
She must have passed out there, and he must have demon'd her back, because she had awoken in her own room, a bottle of something still clutched in her hand and a sudden realization that she felt - in this drunken madness - she should do. She had to tell him. It would continue to eat at her, cloud her every waking moment.
Staggering her way through the castle, she eventually finds his room (which, fortunately or unfortuantely, depending on how one looked at it, was only a floor down and a few rooms over from hers), and leans on the door for support while she bangs on it, loud and desperate.
"North! North wake up! You here or are- are you somewhere else?"

"North! North wake up! You here or are- are you somewhere else?"

One hand rests at the back of her head, and he holds her close as she lets loose all the anger, sorrow, frustration that she's probably been holding in for months.
"I'm sorry."
no subject
She may break his heart with these moments, but it was these times that his quiet strength and steadying presence mended hers.
no subject
He wishes he could say he missed her, something to make things even, giving her a reason to feel truly reassured. There's a little flash of that hazy memory of his last moments, fleeting worry about Theta, and whether or not she'd be okay without him. Ten months. Ten months she's made it, and he's proud of her.

"I think I'm ready for breakfast now." It's quiet, an attempt and lightness after the whole release, as well as a distraction from the meatier issues.
no subject
"You sure your stomach can take it?"
But without really waiting for an answer, he turns back toward the kitchen, giving her a parting pat on the arm. They've got this. They'll be synchronized soon enough. There's eggs to be cooked, bread to be toasted, and he sets right to it.
"I made extra bacon."
no subject
"It can take it. Especially for bacon."
Because emotional whiplash was exhausting and she'd already worked up an appetite.
no subject
He makes quick work of the meal, serving the sandwich up for South on a pristine black plate. Extra bacon? Absolutely.
"And there you go. I can't guarantee it's any good. Been a little while."
Leaning up against the counter, he looks his own sandwich over. Here goes nothing.
no subject
"Well, it's at least better then an MRE." It's better then that, but she has to tease.
no subject
He decides then and there that he'll keep the wishing to a minimum. He's a pretty self-made guy, and he likes to do things the right way, and not necessarily the easy way. So cooking is fine, and cleaning and washing things. He'll make it happen, and he'll be glad to do it. Something normal for once might not be so bad.
Of course, that isn't to say he's going to stop training his ass off, or learning to work even more closely with Theta, but a break or two sounds awfully nice.
no subject
Which is why she'd taken advantage of the wishing and ghost-service since she'd been here. Why settle for a mediocre meal she probably burnt when she could just wish up something piping hot and perfect the moment she was ready for it?
"You been around the grounds yet?" Castle life, daily castle life and not bat-shit insane circumstances, seemed like a safe topic for now.

"I took a little walk. Maybe I'll go again today. This doesn't seem like the most exciting place to be right now."
no subject
"Better take advantage of it while you can; there's no telling when it'll spaz out again." She finish up her sandwich and starts digging into the extra bacon, and when she's done with that, anything still left on North's plate is fair game.
no subject
And yeah, he just hands his plate of extra bacon over. It's nice to see her happy, even if she is going to eat everything in the place.
no subject
Omnomnom bacon. Bacon makes everything better. She finishes it off in silence, then sets the plate on the counter and picks at the wood a moment.
"I am glad that you're here, you know." She can't say she's sorry without revealing certain things, but she maybe she can make up for it in other ways.
no subject
"When you're feeling better, why don't you show me around? I get a feeling there's some stories I need to hear."
no subject
"Yeah, remind me to tell you about the time we all got drunk. I'm gunna go lie down for now, be back in a bit."
no subject
Disappointed? Yes. But he doesn't sound like it. Instead he busies himself cleaning up the kitchen.
"If you need anything, you know where I am."
