Jane almost shrunk back when Dirk began to approach. Almost. Because as much as she knew she had done him wrong, and he had all the reason to be angry at her, he hadn't - hadn't yelled, that was important. Yelling wouldn't get them anywhere. Slowly, almost afraid she would fall, Jane sat down as well, and rested her back against the door. The raw experience of feeling took a lot out of a person, and she couldn't hide her exhaustion.
