Rose and Jane: Have tea

It's just past one in the afternoon when Rose finally sends one of the castle ghosts along to Jane's room with an informal, overwhelmingly lavender invitation. An afternoon tea with the ulterior motive of discussing SBURB's more confusing genetic workings - what does one say? Rose had eventually decided on merely a place and a time, and continued with setting the small table in her clean-for-once bedroom.

Now, to wait for Jane's arrival.

When Jane received the invitation, she immediately set to making a snack. She wanted to be timely, after all, and she thought she remembered promising to bring one. It wouldn't be right to go back on a promise, right? And besides, bringing food to a get-together was just a thing people did.

So, perhaps a minute or so before the time on the invitation, Jane had made it to the fourth floor. She held a covered plate in one hand and rapped smartly on Rose's door with the other.
