It had been too long. Too long since she’d wandered through the woods, too long since she’d felt the grass beneath her bare feet.

Galadriel closed her eyes, letting the warm breeze blow back her hair, breathing in the first scents of spring. She placed a hand on each tree as she passed it, an almost affectionate gesture, making her way deeper into the forest.

At last, when the woods had begun to darken, the small amount of light filtering in through the canopy leaving them in a perpetual twilight, she stopped to rest and take in the stillness, unwilling to venture further- at least today.

Well, yes. I'm no stranger to strange looks.

I get comments about my hair and my last name more than my tree climbing abilities.

Yggdrasill is apparently the name of the world tree in an Earth mythology called Norse.

Odd that it should prove so apt.

Yes, I find it so strange, that my name is the name of a world tree on Earth, when I'm so connected to my world's World Tree. Strange how things work out like that.

I have seen many such connections in my time here. I do not yet know what to make of it.

Neither do I. It's certainly strange and makes me wonder if there are any other connections between my world and Earth. Or any of the worlds that have elves.

Few of the elves of other worlds seem to bear many similarities to my own kind beyond the superficial. Most are mortal. [Which is the strangest part, to her mind.]

...That's right, your species of elf live for longer than 1,000 years. [It's strange, when she thinks about it.]

A great deal longer. My youngest grandchild has seen over twice as many years.

It's amazing. But it could get lonely...

Were there no others who could expect such length of life, certainly. But I do not face the ages alone.

I know. You have Celeborn. [She smiles.] How long have you two known each other?

Oh, you ask such questions. The majority of my life now, of that much I am certain. [She leans back against the tree, thinking.] Some seven thousand years, perhaps?

Such a long time. And you never get tired of one another?

Could you tire of Yuan?

[heal_theworld]

[She laughs, because that's a good point.] No, of course not. Though sometimes he infuriates me.

[inafadingcrown]

[And now she's laughing as well.] That is to be expected, I think.

Did I ever tell you how we met, Yuan and I?
