Tar, tar everywhere. It was black, sticky, and warm to the touch--which Steph discovered, as it clung to her arms and neck. It didn't take too long for her to realize that many in the castle were being afflicted by this, so she tried to tough through it. It would stop eventually, and she had things to do. There was still a lot to be done in the city, before she and Cass left on the expedition.

However, the more she touched, the more tar seemed to come from her hands.

She wasn't going to be useful to anyone today, let alone herself, she came to realize.

What was the logical response?

To lay down on the grass in front of the castle, of course. Maybe if she didn't touch anything for a while, the sticky goo would recede. In the meanwhile, staring at the sky seems like a good option.

Yeah, castle. She gets the irony. She messes up everything she touches. Ha ha.

"Deal." Holds up his pinky to her, since he can't seal the deal with a kiss or a handshake.

"Deal." She cringes as she gets more tar on his hand with the pinky swear.

"I know I've said you'd have to deal with me sitting in on your alone time, but I'll compromise. I don't wanna smother you and make it worse."

[dorkwonder]

"I appreciate it." Sometimes he needs complete alone time. Once he's had time to do some hardcore brooding, he eventually starts to come out of it. He doesn't want to be hostile with her because he feels smothered.

Flicks his pinkie to try and rid himself of the tar.

Gross, Tim.

"I'm pretty awesome with kids. Damian was turned into a toddler, once. I ended up doing most of the care taking."

[dorkwonder]

"I believe it." After all, even at fifteen she seriously considered keeping her baby and had so much love to give the little girl.

She smiles and looks up at the sky.

"But hey, who knows. Maybe we won't have to deal with that."

[dorkwonder]

"Maybe the worst thing we'll have to deal with is a few stinky diapers."

[secondchances]

"Can't be worse than this," she motions at herself.

[dorkwonder]

"...Why did you have to say that." Terrible, horrible mental image. Dirty diaper+her being smeared with tar=scream. He has heard hideous stories from his friends who babysit, about diaper changes going wrong.

"Oh? Are we grossed out, now?" She smirks, slowly rolling towards him.

[dorkwonder]

"You're not imagining what I'm imagining."

[secondchances]

"Doesn't matter." She reaches out a sticky hand.

[dorkwonder]

"Scratch that a few hours of cuddling, to a few minutes. " Scoots away from her.

[secondchances]

"But Tim! I love you!"

[dorkwonder]

"I love you, too. But you know what they say...absence makes the heart grow fonder." Keeps scooting.

[secondchances]

She follows!

"Oh no, I think you don't love me!"

[dorkwonder]

"Sorry, Steph. My love for you is overwhelming!" Starts to rise up onto his feet!

"Then why are you running away from me?!"

[dorkwonder]

"That's where the whole overwhelmed part comes in! " On his feet.

[secondchances]

She jumps up, intent on going after him but not really meaning to goo him.

"But I want to hug you!"

[dorkwonder]

Takes a couple of steps backwards. "You could, but then you'd get my grossness all over you again. I don't think either of us wants that."

[secondchances]

"I love you so much I don't care!"

Which is a little difficult to hear, between her laughtet.

Tim is laughing, too. Which is why he ends up losing his balance when he scrambles to get out of the way and ends up on his back.

Perfect! She pounces, more or less, hands on either side of his head and body held over his.

It's like the freakin' Lion King. You know that scene!

"I win."

[dorkwonder]

"You do! You do!"

Laughing while she's on top of him, simultaneously holding his hands up in front of him to shield himself from the tar.

"Mercy!"
