IT'S A BABY-BONANZA!

Good morning, residents! Did you sleep well? You're going to need all the energy you can muster because congratulations: You're parents! Again! The Paradisa Stork has paid some very lucky residents a visit last night, and even moved them to a more kid-friendly environment.
Some of you may already recognize your little bundle of joy and--my, how they've grown! Others will have to get acquainted with their little rugrats. You may not know them, but they certainly know you. By they way? They're bored. And hungry! And they want all the attention you could possibly give them.
It's going to be a long week.
(ooc: Use this as a catch-all post! This will be the only mass post for the Sunny Skies Retreat, so you may use it for any day that you'd like. Feel free to make your own posts and/or sections whenever you'd like!
SECTIONS: BEDROOMS | PLAY ROOM | PETTING ZOO | POOL | GARDENS | THE CASTLE)

[ Duke scrambles with the air as something small scampers past, knocking into his leg with a shoulder and..
Well, that certainly is a child on the bed heading for Vanyel with excited babbles that are variations of "dad" as Vanyel is climbed on. ]
Child?
no subject
Child... yes...
[ He nodded, recognizing what this must mean though he did not recognize the child. Last time, his companion had been Edward, but Edward was gone. Still, he scooped the child into his arms, settling the silver haired boy on his lap. ]
Oh there, what are you doing making a ruckus so early?
no subject
The child's babbling turns toward food items next. ]
.. Found a lamp...
[ Seems a cable was tugged when the boy turned for a hiding place, and off the counter it went. ]
no subject
Did you tug that off the counter?
[ He looked down at the boy, who had the good grace to look abashed. ]
It is not very nice to tug things off counters, or to mess someone's hair. You don't like knots do you? Neither does Duke.
[ He tugged a lock of hair on the boy. ]
no subject
Duke pauses in trying to find any sharp pieces and pick them up to find those mentioned knots. He heard his name in conjunction with that, and ... Its still in the stage where he can take care of it easily. Not too big of a deal, but if he wakes up with one every day of the week...
He'd probably knot the boy's hair up in 'don't like it? stop doing it', but Vanyel seems to have a handle on him. Duke will just continue cleaning. ]
no subject
All right, little one, I think this means it is time for breakfast.
[ Vanyel gets out of bed and holds the boy in his arms, making for the doorway and out into what he assumed to be the kitchen. He shifted the boy onto his hip, and a brief glimpse of a cup 'labeled' Luke gave him a clue to the boy's name.]
What would you like for breakfast, Luke?
no subject
Duke will eventually follow, holding a handful of shards carefully. ]
... See a trash container?
no subject
[ Vanyel looked about and nodded, knowing what such a thing was now and finding it rather handy, actually. ]
To your left, about ten paces.
[ He always tried to be careful of directions and spacing with Duke, and worried for a moment the other was without his magic, which he knew hampered his ability to move. ]
Are you... do you still have your magic, Duke?
[ He set Luke in a chair and went to fetch breakfast for the child that was, supposedly, their son and didn't that hit him like a ton of rocks. ]
no subject
... I woke somewhere unfamiliar and assumed not.
[ A little sheepish, and he focuses to find. Oh, it was here. that meant picking up all his little spells and
then dropping his handful of shards with a startled noise and shutting them all off again. Luke cheers once at the noise, but then gives worried babbles of 'red', because those shards had been cut.
Duke is knuckling his temples and ignoring any stinging to his fingers at the moment. Was that just what he thought he felt. A second flinch indicates he tested. ]
no subject
[ Vanyel frowned, watching Duke. He set their child in a chair and went to the fair haired young man, wrapping his arm around him gently. ]
Duke? Is something wrong?
[ He led the other to a nearby chair to have him sit down before something worse happened, not wanting to alarm Luke so early into them being parents. A worried child was not something anyone needed. ]
no subject
Duke shakes his head a few times like he's trying to clear something from about him, before blinking in Vanyel's vague direction. ]
Castle.. provided, and perhaps expanded on, what would be inherited.
[ So if Luke makes the crust of his bread vanish in the next ten minutes, without eating it or feeding it to someone else, its to be expected. ]
Simply.. was not expecting.
[ He moves his fingers, winces once, and sets to healing that. Luke claps and giggles at the lights. ]
no subject
[ Vanyel frowned, wondering what that meant as he went to fetch water for Duke, placing a cup down in front of him before he went to stick closer to Luke, giving the boy some juice in a small cup and setting down a plate of fruit, and bread bits for him to eat. ]
What do you mean, Duke? Expanded on what exactly?
no subject
[ This is something he's genuinely curious about, and only just realized he didn't know.
And it was completely relevant. Completely and totally.
Luke pokes Duke's hand with a piece of fruit, so Duke turns his hand over and ends up with a grape in hand. ]
... thank you. [ And there's a start of Duke's breakfast... ]
no subject
Oh, it is... well, I usually need to touch them and be looking for it. If it is hidden, it is harder to find, but when in active use easier, and especially if I know someone to be a magic user.
Why, does Luke...
[ He looked at the boy, blinking in surprise and wondered how he did not really expect this before. Of course the boy had magic considering Vanyel's own blood and Duke's. Two of his other children (well, not really is, but by blood his yes) were very magical, so Luke should not have been a surprise. ]
no subject
[ If that's even the right word for how he uses his magic to orient himself.
Luke accidentally drops a bit of food. After an announcement of 'oops!'.... where did the food go? ]
Wasn't expecting it, so startled and... Stung is inappropriate, but adequate.
no subject
He is so powerful? I wonder why I have not sensed it...
[ He moved instantly to pick up the food and toss it into the garbage, though a part of him felt bad for wasting, but he knew that letting the child eat from the floor was liable to make him ill and he did not want to go through an ill child. ]
no subject
[ Duke's never had to use words for this before.
Luke watches that, and goes back to eating. Seems their odd conversation isn't one that bothers him too much. ]
Perhaps because is small, harder to... keep inside?
[ Duke knuckles the side of his head, thinking. ]
... Perhaps because mixed magics.
[ Vanyel, he wants to try working on spells together if that is the case. ]
no subject
Perhaps. I had not thought they could mix, but if so... Well, we have proof it must be so, right? Certainly it usually does not manifest so quickly, my sort of magic. With yours, it might also explain why it has not gone out of control yet...
[ He watched Luke carefully, biting his lip. They would need to keep a close eye on the child, though Vanyel doubted he would do serious harm, just little hiccups with the magic that were out of his control. ]
no subject
A good thing for combination, perhaps. What are learning-to-control steps?
[ Even if it hasn't done anything terrible yet... ]
no subject
Advanced, at least for my type of magic. He won't be able to understand the concepts yet, not so young. Perhaps I should take him to Yfandes. She might be able to help.
[ But he was not sure, since Yfandes was his Companion and not Luke's. Still, she might have some ideas. ]
no subject
Or how this hybrid would work. ]
Some idea would be better than none. Do not know how to aid, truly, as only particularly powerful Children of the Full Moon are capable of magic without learning the spells, and the one in recent times, had no contact with. With simply-own sort of magic.
[ Well, no contact with her learning years. ]
... Is it wrong to be a mixture of excited and.... something else?
[ Because this is new magic, Vanyel, its fascinating. that something else might be an odd form of pride, because its settling that Luke is, at least partially, his. ]
no subject
[ His mouth quirked despite himself and he reached down, petting the soft silver waves of Luke's hair. In that, the boy was like Duke, but Vanyel could see he had his own eyes. If Vanyel had access to a node, his hair might be silver yet, so one could think it came from them both, just a little. ]
It's a challenge, but... an interesting one, yes.
no subject
Definitely an interesting challenge. New, but human and little. ]
no subject
Luke, don't try and pull daddy's hair please, it's not nice.
[ He tapped the boy's tiny hand in gentle admonition, giving him a piece of apple to focus on instead as he took a seat beside him. ]
Well, come on Duke, might as well eat breakfast whilst we can.
