IT'S A BABY-BONANZA!

Good morning, residents! Did you sleep well? You're going to need all the energy you can muster because congratulations: You're parents! Again! The Paradisa Stork has paid some very lucky residents a visit last night, and even moved them to a more kid-friendly environment.

Some of you may already recognize your little bundle of joy and--my, how they've grown! Others will have to get acquainted with their little rugrats. You may not know them, but they certainly know you. By they way? They're bored. And hungry! And they want all the attention you could possibly give them.

It's going to be a long week.

_{[ Ashura smiled and reached out, stroking Felix's cheek in acknowledgement before he set Ryuga down on the floor, patting his bottom. ]}

Come on then, daddy won't wait all morning.

[Ryuga began to walk, picking up his feet in an excited trot despite having no clear idea of where he was going but happy to be doing so, clearly having mastered walking in the intervening year.

Felix sat up and brushed his hair back from his forehead]

Why aren't we in the castle?

That is like asking why we have a child.

_{[ He gave him a look and rose to follow their bouncing child, but not before giving Felix a soft kiss on his temple. Giggles sounded from the kitchen as Ashura swept up their son, taking out a pitcher of juice and helped the boy pour before sending him back in to Felix with the glass held out and oh so carefully, a look of extreme concentration on the boy's face. ]}

[He accepted the glass with a small smile and patted the boy on the head as he took a sip. He would have preferred coffee or tea, but he didn't quite have the heart to turn it down.]

Thank you very much.

[He glanced back up at Ashura]

That's not entirely true. He's always showed up in our own room. This is new.

_{[ He came over with a large bowl of fruit - apples, oranges, strawberries. He sat down on the edge of the bed next to Felix again, Ryuga scrambling up to nestle between them and grabbing an apple slice with tiny hand. ]}

It does not seem malevolent, though. It seems quite... family friendly, actually. An odd whim of the Castle?

I like apples. [Ryuga proclaimed it confidently, despite mushing up the words somewhat.]

Very good.

[Felix smirked]

Most of it's whims are odd. But as long as they're safe here, it doesn't entirely matter.

His vocabulary is coming along.

Is that good or bad for us?

_{[ His mouth quirked, only imagining how sassy Felix must have been at this age. Ashura knew he had been, but then most children were. It was in their nature, wasn't it? He clucked as he ran fingers through soft red hair, finding knots. ]}

We'll have to get those rat's nests out of your hair. You don't want rats in your hair, do you?

_{[ He looked down at Ryuga, who shook his head with wide eyes, indeed believing rats might live in his hair if his parents did not untangle the fiery locks. ]}

Don't terrify the boy off his breakfast, Ashura. Ryuga, it will be fine. Eat your apple. I will a brush.

[Slight exasperated, Felix placed his cup aside and slid off the bed to do just that]

_{[ Ashura's eyes glittered over the top of their child's head, sipping his juice. It was good to see you truly interested in something, Felix and he rose, getting the brush from the dresser and handing it to Felix as he continued to offer the child small bites of fruit and bread for the morning repast. ]}

What do you want to do today, Ryuga?

[Felix took the brush and settled himself on the bed besides their child, gently parting and setting about the process of brushing the boy's hair, which was only slightly less wild than his own, thanks to Ashura's genetic influence.]

I wanna play on the slide!

[Felix glanced at Ashura]

...whatever a slide is.

_{[ Ashura shook his head, rising to clear the empty cups from the beside. ]}

First we need to get you dressed, Ryuga, then you can take us to the slide.

_{[ There was no point in asking the boy what a slide was, the answer would probably be less than helpful. Best to see it for themselves. ]}

[Felix continued the task of brushing the boy's hair, content with the task for a moment while Ashura cleaned up, given the amount the boy began to fuss as the brush caught lightly on the tangles.]

It will be over faster if you sit still.

_{[ Ashura laughed. ]}

That is like asking water not to run its course, Felix.

_{[ He cleaned up breakfast and went to a small set of drawers near their own, pulling out tiny clothes, beaming at the details and the colors. He selected little trousers and a loose, half-robe like top for the boy, a compromise between their two aesthetics and cultures. He chose dark colors, because the boy was a mess half the time and they showed stains less. ]}

Come on, you'll have to put on proper clothes if you want to go to a slide.

[Finally through, he patted Ryuga on the back]

Go on, then...

_{[ Ashura smiled as their child ran to him, gingerly working the babe out of his night clothes and into his play clothing. It took Ashura a bit, fingers sore and cramped still from the events that had turned them pink with scarring. Ryuga wriggled on a little, at least, happy enough to be of help in the interest of going to play. Ashura put his feet into his little shoes and stood, nodding. ]}

Now let Papa and Daddy dress and we'll go.
